A pointless post for a pointless thread.
Like the other 99% of threads on here. Obviously you're not interested in this subject, but some of us are.

To all the replies to my earlier post. I can't argue with any of you & I never implied that what these people saw were alien, it was (& still is I believe) unidentified & unexplained. Now whether it turns out to be explainable or not remains to be seen, It may well of been due to the alignment of planets or something.

But what still amazes me is that some people are so anti anything that is not explainable to them immediately, I just don't get that & would love to of seen this thing with my own eyes. I think it is far too easy to dismiss anything that we don't see for ourselves. The witnesses to the UFO were probably just normal rational people like us who would of probably had the same arguments against UFOs as some on here, but I wonder what their thoughts are now after seeing something that was so far out of the ordinary for them that they went out of their way to report it.

Totally the opposite in fact. I am very interested in the search for life in the cosmos and have read much about it over the years. However, I decided at a very early eage (about 10 or so) that the vast bulk of UFO sightings were down to misidentification by normal people or alternatively just twittering by loons, weirdoes, and general idiots.

The day aliens arrive on earth, believe me, we will know - and it won't be due to a sudden upsurge in dead sheep.

Well, maybe. Alternatively a race advanced enough to cross the stars may well view us as we do a tribe of apes. We could merely be the subject of a covert anthropological observation, with no knowledge of that.

I think that sheep ARE the aliens.
Have you ever seen the way they clump together in corners of fields, just watching us?

They're up to something, I tell you.

In a previous thread and this one I have put links to statements being made by airline pilots, astronauts and academics though clearly you made your mind up sixty years ago Eric wink and the twitterings of such loons, weirdos and general idiots are not going to sway you.

I did mention normal people too - but pilots and astronauts are not uniquely exempt from making mistakes or just being plain stupid.

How did the eye witnesses without cameras encounter lens flare?...

I do tend to agree with you & in fact I have never said that I believe in aliens, however I don't disbelieve. I am a very cynical chap, I am very cynical about governments, public transport (random I know), I'm very cynical about most aspects of my life & things that I understand & know about. The universe is a big, huge, gigantic place that humans know very little about & which I know even less about, therefore I believe it would be very presumptuous of me to be cynical of something that I could not possibly have much understanding of.

Jmorgan said earlier that everything else (apart from the points he was making) is supposition on a whimsy, & that's exactly what I think. Even a lot of what we we think we know is little more than supposition so how could I say that there is not life elsewhere, how could I say that even if other life does exist they couldn't travel the vast distances needed to come here, I don't see how anybody could say that with the limited knowledge that we posses.

Wasn't it only about a hundred & fifty years ago that it was known that people could not travel at above 15mph or something similar & here we are now travelling at unbelievable speeds for people of that time, nearly 55 in a 70 on some occasions. smile We don't even know for sure what lives in our deepest oceans or even our own human origins are still highly debated, we still have many religions with different followers all proclaiming that their god is the one & only. We are still developing as a race so how can anyone even imagine what is happening in the vastness of space concerning other life.

Tears in their eyes? That's all that was on the video, it was utter rubbish. All we have to go on is some report in an online version of an unknown paper and a video that shows nothing but lense flare. How credible was that?

Removed surplus 'in'.

Lens flare is an unfortunate (depending on circumstances or point of view) effect of light and the lens and the way it travels through it. If you follow the film through, one bit that caught my eye was the reflection off the van rear doors coming up as a bright spot. Dims as the angle changes. I also see the camera shift to the ground then come back up and the lights have moved. One is still the van door.

That was a completely rubbish video showing a bit of lens flare and not worthy of discussion.

smile That's not a UFO video, THIS is a UFO video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DKWhZgOXRU

I'm not saying it's not of this world or anything, just indicating that the UFO phenomenon is very real. Watch what it does at 2:15.

Watched it twice. What does it do at 2:15? Seems to just be sitting there?

rolleyes the lights rotate clockwiese in a synchronised manner as though connected to a solid object. Not dramatic but difficult to explain away. You may have noticed two broke went their separate ways earlier on.

No need to roll your eyes at me Reg wink

Just looked to me like the camera was refocussing hence the lights appearing to move.

Oh come off it Graham, jets make very loud noises, move across the sky rapidly and are soon gone.

Here's some jets remaining silent and stationary in the sky whilst gently changing formation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dc0XlX8cWQs
