House on Rightmove here;

https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/118807703#/...

Darrens got a magnifying glass next to his lovely iMac.

TBH is that worth 2.5 million? Its not even got a closed ruddy garage!

Those are the same photos used on the Omaze draw, probably too wet and not very sunny for nice photos now.

so I get the impression Omaze are used to 'sell' houses with issues(?) to mugs like us who pay £10 for a raffle ticket then if we win stuck with a house that won't ever sell?!

Holiday rental....
Think the only one with actual issues was the flood house in the Cotswolds, wasn't it? But all the others are just high priced houses.
More people around who wouldn't mind winning them, compared with people able to afford to buy them.

At the end of the day, even taking an absolutely massive hit on the market value of the house for a sale, you're still quids in if you win one.

He woman that presents the tv ads is nauseating the most annoying voice and fixed grin. Could not bring myself to enter just because of her.

Even if you win and plan to sell, you're having to pay council tax in the meantime. If you can't sell it due to flood risk, that's a lot of council tax to pay even at the unoccupied rate. No idea what the council tax would be on that property, but even at £200/month - could you afford it?
Punt it onto the next available property auction with no reserve, you'll not own it long enough for the council to twig on.

Greed is a horrible thing though, he probably wants top dollar.

No doubt lodging part of the case to sue Omaze lol.

The only winner in this is the bloke who built the property for next to nothing on the flood plain.

What interests me is that if Omaze can do it and pick their way through the Lottery & Gaming Act, why aren't there more outfits doing this?

Have you heard the female voice fronting the vodaphone adverts? I'm sure it's a put on voice. It's truly one of the most annoying sounds I've heard. She probably spent hours developing it, argh :-)

I don't understand this - if you've won the gaff and there are issues then why pop it on the market @ 2.5mil, why not pop it on @ 1.25mil (for example) which makes it attractive enough for someone to risk a punt?

Someone with 2.5M to spend on a house and who likes it enough to try and build flood defences to sort it out.
