My ex sees famous people quite a lot as she works for Radio 1.

She has some very interesting photos on her mobile.

My other half used to be a reporter for Anglia news. Does that count? She is still quite well known in the media world and is called up for loads of radio and tv interviews because of the job she does now. I always laugh when old grannies come up to her when we are out shopping and start talking to her like they know her personally.

I've met a few people because of her and she's still friendly with quite a lot of reporters, but they probably think I am a grumpy git because I am so unimpressed by all that kind of stuff. laugh

Has this moved on from 'work with anyone famous', to 'met anyone even remotely famous'??? biglaugh

if so... thumbup

Obviously didn't work with her, but whilst in NY I was so close I could almost smell Hillary Clinton (maybe not the best description really...)

Must have a thing about First-Ladies because I also sat next to Nancy Reagan in a London restaurant back in 2001.

Woop-de-fkin-doo.... as they say. party

should score high on the PHometer but loses points for being a while back but....

I went to primary school and was mates with Christian Fittipaldi - nothing flash, a good state primary I guess. Did not have a clue who his uncle was at the time, just wiki'd him and he is 3 months younger than me.

thought nothing of it for years until I saw he won NASCAR stuff about 10 years ago (which obviously i do not follow)

would be great to find some pictures of when he was about 7/8 years old to see if I still recognise him (leave the paedo jokes please)

I've seen his Bentley in London a couple of times. The second time it looked like he's put some stupid bling wheels on it. 21 DW or something.

I played pool with Matt Damon and Cameron Diaz once. Does that count?

I missed out on one, couldnt get to a job in a crematorium of all places, my brother did though and started speaking with one of the older guys there who was fitting something or other, or worked there, said he was about to go for lunch, his son was coming up to see him for some sandwhiches before going to Americaland for a few months, about 10 minutes later James Dean Bradfield walked in

Gutted I missed that, brother got signed photo from him and the band, even apologised for smudging his signature laugh

Not work with but meet quite a few...

I'm living in Brisbane at the mo, but flew out to Auckland last week to sort out a few teething problems for 'The Who'. Stayed over a couple of nights and flew back for the Brisbane gig, met my childhood idol 'Rabbit' (Keyboards - Free, Bad Co, Bob Marley etc), we drank fairly consistently for a few nights!

I grew up in Yorkshire and went to school with the son of legendary Leeds United player Eddie Gray. Eddie used to be the manager of Leeds and would come and watch our primary school footie team play. I was the goalie and he once said 'Great Save' to me. I was very proud.

I also served Frankie Howard 4 Double Bloody Mary's one lunchtime when I was a waiter in Harrogate.

And I saw Jimmy 'Whirlwind' White in his Aston DB9 convertible in a petrol station in London.

Thats it now!

I am good friends with Dean Richards, I know Phil Middlemass's wife, have designed part of Michael Cain's house in Oxford & Peter Gabriel's house in Bristol. In my spare time I was the 384th English person to swim the English Channel in under 15 hours, and Liza Minnelli came to our house once when I was about 13.

Celebrity or what ?????

My former Brother-in-law was one of the founding members of Spandau Ballet.

And six years living London led to so many celeb encounters. Being an F1 fan, Jean Todt outside Selfridges, Jenson with then gf Louise on Oxford St and A.Wurz in South Molton St. were the highlights. Incredibly, I saw Jenson once again, in the street with his pals in Ginza, Tokyo back in Nov '06.

Not allowed to divulge names, as it would get me into trouble... but he is the drummer for a fairly successful band who have been likened to The Coral, Arctic Monkeys and The Zutons.

Tony Cottey, legendary Glamorgan batsman of the mid 90's was running some 'community' cricket sessions.

I was helping out my mother in law who ran a residential home for the mentally-handicapped. We packed 'em into the bus and toddled along to this cricket thing. I suddenly became aware that the guy I was looking after bore a slight resemblance to me.

-Tony spoke very slowly and clearly to me that day obviously believing me subject to the same genetic thinking problems as my 'client'. One of my own fecking local sporting heroes thought I was Simple Jack.

David Coverdale used to work in one of my father's boutiques back in the 70's.
He had the worst acne I have ever seen.
