Best bit of the race was when Crofty was choking on something and went quiet for all of 7 seconds.
Yes, those were good times.

Don't care.
The guy has ruined F1 for me for what... must be over a decade now?!
Sod him!
Even that dumbo "Bernie" or one of the sky kids would be better.
Niomi Schiff, Sam Collins and Brundle would be a far better team.

Crofty actually raises my blood pressure, totally ruins the experience.
Schitt is just as bad. Knows absolutely sfa. The two of them are ruining the coverage for me.

Why do so many of you say Crofty ?
It is Croft who is generally despised as a commentator , som to cal him Crofty implies a warm friendly / loveable friend which he is clearly not according to this thread.

Everyone calls him that because that's how pretty much he is addressed by almost everyone on the Sky Team.

"Thanks Damon, and now over to Crofty for more shrieking, inane, dribbling bks"

To be honest, I think anyone would have struggled to commentate on today’s race is was that disappointing.

That's exactly why I've cancelled my Sky F1 subscription. Boring racing, predictable result and woeful commentary.

I am a massive critic of this moron, but I do have some sympathy for him too, trying to make a dull F1 race sound interesting is hard, Murray just about managed it, and there some very dull races back then too. But this guys delivery just does not work in the same way.

Me too, I am human after all.
However, he really really comes over as a bullish arrogant oaf, that really thinks he is gods gift to F1.
I've seen quite (unfortunately) a few events with him doing them, F1 events in and around the race weekend, and he is even more obnoxious in "real life" than he is in the commentary box. He is really quite rude when asking drivers questions too. His sense of "humour" is not just cringe worthy, but just plain low IQ, childlike, and utterly un-funny. Brundle is a dry humour master in comparison.

He will never change, never dial it down, and I fear will continue on for many more years until his cholesterol catches up with him.

I forget at what specific point it was, but in the race he made a point of somebody catching someone before the end of the race at the pace they were going, when they were something like 45seconds behind. I think Brundle let it go, but I was thinking it was yet another piece of erroneous, made up bks which did nothing for anyone.

Same here. So happy not to feel compelled to watch all 6 or so hours of coverage fronted by utter morons.

The ‘high’lights on ch4 were more than enough.

The 10 hours of WEC was far better motorsport viewing.

I fell asleep after lap 17, but I sadly had the misfortune to hear the first switcharoo land of the season on lap 14. A little bit of Brundle must die each time he says that.

Just been watching The Professionals on ITV4 and Bodie uses the infamous 'old Switcheroo' saying much loved by Mr Croft. Maybe that's were he got it it from originally and it stuck.

He can't shut up, I didn't watch it live, but couldn't believe the stupid statistics he was spewing out, stupid invented anniversary of this and that

The cars had barely got on track and he cutoff Karun and simply spoke over him when twice Karun tried to make his point…which was going to be more interesting than whatever Croft was saying.

It was quite amusing when Karun and Ant suggested a 10 minute sin bin every time Croft made a terrible dad joke. I hope Sky take their suggestion, well never hear him again biggrin
