n New Zealand the deal is also 85 NZ$ for the year for new sign ups - normally 100 NZ$ too. Pity the European races are in the middle of the night.
But that's the beauty of F1TV vs any other streaming platform, you can watch the races almost instantly, so if the race is on at 1am NZ time, when you get up at say 7am on Sunday, the race is ready there for you to watch it it's entirety. just avoid spoilers in the time between waking up, and watching the race.

Hello all,
A quick question please.

I took out the F1 TV last year and my renewal has come through for £71.00 to be taken via Google Pay. I just want to check that do I need to do anything at all on the Google Pay side of things or will the payment be automatically taken and I don't need to take any action?

Thank you.

How does casting from an iPad work - do I need an Apple TV or is there an alternative way?

Firestick would be ideal but maybe not feasible with an Apple device

I have a very old Apple TV somewhere, but may not be modern enough.

Does the TV / Apple TV need to have a vpn connection also?

Depends on your tv. Try and see if you can cast to it.

I had the same email and I'm sure it said the payment would be taken automatically.

Same, and payment was taken. I tested F1TV yesterday to make sure I'm set for the new season, it's all working and paid up.

Chop chop guys, F1 testing airs in ~31 hours time smile

Yea ditto, my F1TV renewal was £59.99 aswell,

Is it cheaper depending where you subscribe from? or is Apple cheaper than Google?

So what's the pay monthly in app purchase then? I presume he's either paid via iTunes as part of a broader package or F1TV is included as some promo on the phone deal?

Not that it matters, F1TV is very cheap anyway, but I bet he's paying for it on some level.

I get Spotify pro 'for free', but in reality my phone contract is more expensive as it includes Spotify pro. I probably save £20 a year though smile

Does this still work in the UK? It stopped working for me part way through last season when F1TV seemed to wise up to VPNs and blocked them?

Yes still works in the UK, when that all kicked off and F1TV got wise to it all, It took the VPN company's a week or two to get around it, and create more servers etc.

I'm with Nord, and they were pretty quick to get it all back up and running again.

Excellent, thank you. I shall renew and enjoy this season then!

If the VPN IP you're using gets found and listed, you're stuck until you find another that isn't blocked.

A dedicated Vpn IP avoids the faff/uncertainty.

Last year there were several that continued working so it was never really an issue once you found one, took a couple of goes when the IPs got blacklisted first but after that you could stick with one of the working ones for the rest of the season. So I'm told.

The reality is that they can detect and block any VPN linked IP, anytime. It's quite possibly true that they make a big push to do so pre-season so you may be less likely to have to change again once the season is underway... But thats s bit like saying 'they never put a mobile speed camera on this road...'

No reason not to use a shared IP if you can find one that works and don't mind swapping if it gets listed - but for a simple life a dedicated IP is easiest moving forwards, they're getting better at detecting the shared ones.

But wouldn't the same apply to a dedicated VPN IP? As in, if it gets listed and blocked you're screwed?

Yes but it's incredibly unlikely they would detect it. They detect VPN IP's by analysing their usage - if F1TV notice that 300 people have logged in to their service simultaneously using the same IP address itsxa bit of a giveaway... They can also sign up for their own accounts with the major VPN providers and log all the shared IP's on offer and see if those are being used.

If your IP is unique to you, neither of those fairly simple detection methods will work. The only way I can think of detecting a private VPN IP is via DNS leaking, which for some cheaper providers tends to reveal there is a VPN providers server behind the public IP address. I can say that Nord dont suffer such DNS leaking which is why I'm with them.
