this is all covered in the Abu thread ...but it's first stumble is to assume that all incidents that require safety cars are the same & require the same amount of time to clear- they are not, hence why Monaco took the longest

Merc would know this, even if Masi & Speed Physics did not

Forgotten what?

Remember (not literally of course) the 'uproar' over the halo?

I'm sure Mr Horner is quite happy in life. I would be if I were him!

Example in point - I don't recall too many people bringing up Schumacher's indiscretions when he was winning title after title at Ferrari.
I think some people were at the time but as social media wasn't a thing at the time it wasn't reported as widely.
Likewise Senna's "if you don't go for a gap..." comment is now widely quoted as though it was some great truism as opposed to a flimsy excuse for dirty driving. Of course that same episode was how I knew there would be no chance of the FIA doing anything other than whitewashing Abu Dhabi.

Just stop thinking of it as a sport. Then it’s easy.

Anything can happen in ‘engineering-oriented entertainment’.

You really should internalise your fantasies. Be careful not to trip as you chase your hand around the basement.

I’m not a fan of the man, but his “we just need one lap Michael” was a masterpiece of influencing and was almost solely responsible for the debacle that followed.

aka bell end ,Whinger Spice, nob, jolly good chap or what ever, has been quoted as saying F1 fans have short memories and will soon forget the events that took place at Abu Dhabi, I do not know if someone has requoted this recently in the media or that he has reiterated his statement with the usual casual wave of his hand.

Now I don`t know about you, be you a Max fan ,Lewis fan, don`t care fan or a casual observer, CH must be smoking some funny stuff if he thinks anyone will forget anytime soon unless they have been lobotomized .

He will not forget

The media will not forget

His team will not forget

Or any driver on the grid

Any F1 fan will not forget

Max will certainly not forget............I COULD GO ON

I will not forget, I will also not forget that he spouted such a steaming pile of crap, he obviously believes we are all morons (hopes most likely)
Haha you sound like a Trump supporter!

Get over it… I’ve been watching F1 since the 80s and this was the best season in a long, long time. Had me on the edge of my seat. I’m a Lewis fan and disappointed he didn’t get the title, but Mercedes strategy was simply not as good as Red Bulls. Masi’s call worked in RB’s favour. All the Max fans would be screaming if he let the race finish under red flag. You can’t please everyone.

I feel sorry for you carrying all of this bitterness around.

I sometimes wonder who all these "casual F1 observers" are.
People like my wife, who attended her first race with me in Abu Dhabi and wondered what the censored happened at the end!

Mental isn't it.

Didn't get the result they wanted so will be bitter till the very end. What happened to being gracious in defeat. Everyone on here could take a leaf out of Hamilton's book and give it a rest... come back stronger.

I am fine - as are most people here - with Max winning the WDC. It is the way in which it was won that is the problem.

Max deserved the title, as did Lewis, but it was "won" by Masi.

Forever tarnished: Masi Asterisk

Hamilton definitely took the right approach - very sporting.

I'd love to know what his Dad said to him when he got out of the car. He gets a lot of stick for whining in the car but out of it he was supernaturally composed.

Sebs tantrum aftter being denied first or Max's sulk the race before would have been entirely expected after being robbed like that.

yes, agree, his dad must have had just the right words for the situation. They came out of it really well.
