If he keeps his seat it's because the team thinks he deserves to keep his seat. What some internet randoms think is irrelevant.
Deserves due to results and performance, or deserve due to the media presence and publicity he brings?

That's for the team to decide.

Plenty of F1 driver selections are based primarily on results and performance, while plenty of others are based primarily on sponsorship, media, and publicity - especially away from the sharp end of the grid.

Liberty will love Ricciardo because he drives engagement online better than he does cars on tracks. Think he's the 4th or 5th largest on Instagram.

RB are in a similar situation to Aston Martin, with one driver getting most of their points. RB should be well clear of Haas and close to Aston Martin, but Aston should be even with Mercedes. The 5 points Riccardo has makes the situation look better for him now when Tsunoda has 14, but it's his only points result this season. I think Lawson would have scored more by now. With the gap to Aston Martin, they might be thinking they'd be 6th anyway with or without Riccardo, so leave him in the seat and get more promotion with him, but there hasn't been much 'happy Daniel' this year.
