O/T Loon, do you have any S1 / S2 exige info you could pass on? chap at work is going to look at an S1 on sat but is undecided on S1/S2. S1 being the classic more hardcore, but is it better? which is the pick?

Maybe I should have said a trackday. smile

However, if you have one in mind let us all know and we'll see if a Thread gathering is on the cards. I'm certainly up for more track action. driving

In a nutshell -

S1 Exige (Rover K series VHPD) in either 177 or 190bhp flavours. Much more of a raw, racecar feel for the road than the later S2 with the Toyota engine.

The S2 Exige is something that you could use everyday and are a LOT more refined if slightly less special.

Also get things like ABS etc on the S2 that weren't available on the S1.

S1 Exige is a very rare car and therefore worth more than an S2.

S2 is available with 189bhp (non SC) and then with the SC - 218, 238, 260bhp.

I'd go with 18s, but I still think it looks hard as.

Sort of: it's been rebodied to be a replica of the Phil Hill 212, so it no longer looks like it did when Hawthorn had it's Abbot coachbuilding.

Shame that, an English body on Hawthorn's car would be fitting.

By all accounts it was a bit of a pig though.

Still achingly desirable to me though.

Would love to mate, but it's not my car, so that sort of activity is totally off the menu.

It's not too late. A donation of just 2 pounds a week will help educate an eastern european to stay the fk away from E500s. £3 a week and we can keep them away from 500Es also.

Together, we can make a difference.

Quite a few good looking £10k 996s in the classifieds, reasoning that if I keep looking at them it will make an M3 seem inexpensive. Or something.
