I know. Try finding a Mk1. Better luck finding a hens tooth in rocking horse manure hidden in a haystack.

It turns out Pumas are too. irked

Just a bit cheaper ongoing projects.
And it seems Rover 75's & MG ZT's are going the same way too. (I know, i know not the same) But it seems Mercedes R107 SL's ain't. Surely there must be a few?

This is mighty appealing actually:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2012...

Does this engine/drivetrain/suspension/electrics combo have the potential for a major borkastrophe, or is it a bit of a gem? Insurance seems reasonable so it could be a contender.
I'd prefer the newer 550i but it is a fair step up into one of those; £7k pre-haggle seems sensible for the performance/practicality ratio.

Or should I stick with the BX Legacy hunt (4x4, decent perfomance, space, comfort, reliability and a sober suit really appeals).
That's been for sale a little while - do your inspection carefully and you're bound to find £1000+ worth of haggling room. Aim for sub-£6k.
That sounds ominous. I want something I can jump in and use without first having to send it to a garage for de-borkage.

I'm oot.

Always good to have a decent amount of thread to catch up on for an evening in a lodge in Zambia. Currently the custodian of this very Nissan NP300:

700km in and I'm just about getting to grips with the low range box although assistance has been required - sand, much tougher than it looks!

awesome, what's the route for the trip?

the key to sand is let your tyres down, keep it in 4H and just boot it.

And if you get stuck, don't get out and try and push without shoes (and possibly long socks. Hot!!

Because it's lush? smile

40,000 miles... it would be interesting to see if there was history to support that.
I hated that dealer, stitched me up like a kipper. Sold me a car with a porus head

Really? Lush? It looks ste. Probably has 140k or 140k on the clock and the bodywork is in need of some serious TLC. I think I'd rather have bad AIDS. wink
