My OH ordered an Evoque as a company car through a lease firm way back on the 14th of August and still hasn't taken delivery of it. The original quoted date was early March, then late February and since then it has moved around a few more times with the latest guess being some time in April.

According to the lease company, who seem to be out of the loop really, the dealer has stated that the issue is with "border control" - seeing as Evoques are made in Halesowen it sounds like nonsense to me!

Has anyone else experienced a similar delay with these cars, or have any idea what's going on?

Sounds like one of them forgot to place your order!

We ordered an Evoque through an LR main dealer on 12 Dec 2014 for delivery on 27 Mar.

Good news: car's ready and at dealers.

Bad news: Dealer ordered the wrong spec, which we are not prepared to accept.

We have been offered a reorder for delivery early June, but have decided to wait for the facelift Evoque with the new Ingenium engine, deliveries due to start first week in September.

Can't understand why yours is taking so long . . .

A facelifted version is due out in a few months, so I doubt current versions will even be being built now.

Nope, they're made at Halewood. That's where your problem is smile

We ordered ours in June last year and took delivery 22nd Sept. I know different dealers have differing build slots.

Remember they also lost some with that boat grounding in the solent. Those will need to be re-done first...

They're having issues with the quality of some 3rd party switchgear on the line.

Thanks for the replies so far. Halewood or Halesowen, I still suspect someone in the supply chain is being fibbed to.

You've got to be joking right? They are definitely still building the current model. Halewood just struggle to keep up with the demand for Evoques.

Whatever, it's going to be well out of fashion by the time you get it.

I don't pretend to know how long the turnaround is for retooling for a new or facelifted model. How long is it?

To be fair, the Indians probably take a long time to build a car.

Absolutely.

I know for a fact this happens I was looking at a Disco Sport and was told no slots left so delivery would be May at the earliest.
Friend who swaps his wifes Freelanders and Evoques every 18 months went in end of January to order one and I saw her in it today.

Someones build slot has obviously been pushed way down the list to keep him happy.

Either dealer or lease company dropped the ball or "re-prioritised" to someone more important.

Something definitely gone wrong here.

As mentioned, someone in the chain has messed up part of the order. Fingers crossed you get it ASAP!

OMG, do people really wait that long for a car?

Buy something else.
