Resto/Mod Backdating costs...

I like these and have taken note that the only used one to have sold (on record) went for about 50% off...

Fingers crossed another one comes up for sale around those numbers in the UK. I'd be interested.

I dislike the whole backdate thing. Keep the lines, sympathetically update the mechanicals and ICE, say I. If you want a long-bonnet car, buy an actual pre-79 car and restore it, don't butcher a 964. Also, the absurdly oversize Fuchs-a-like wheel thing is naff, in my opinion. Anything above 15" looks wrong. Teledials, Cup 1s or (at a pinch) Speedlines, please. Or Ruf wheels. If it's a Ruf.
The seats in that Theon are ridiculous - why put early-2000s-style racing seats in something dressed up to look like a 70s car?
Poor unappreciated 964s. Ruined in period by people "updating" them to the 993 nose and ruined now by people "backdating" them to something that looks almost but not entirely unlike a 2.7RS.
Not that I have strong opinions on this point, or anything.

I’m sure it’s well put together but not a fan of that Oversized Fuchs
80/90s electric seats with RS ish door cards and a 50s style wood rim wheel just looks weird
Rear wiper!
It’s like two or three different concepts in the same car
Have to say I agree….the wheels are too big…regardless of whether you like the looks of them or not the one thing they will be is heavier than a standard size wheel. When you look at how much money people are spending on mag wheels and PCCB’s on modern cars it seems daft for people to build these cars with wheels that size.
Whey on earth would you build a car like that with 4wd too ?
Don’t like the steering wheel either !
And I suppose you have to ask why it’s for sale now having only been built last year.

Agree, steering wheel looks like it should be in a Jaguar. The seats look like comfort seats from a 993/996. Odd.Oversized Fuchs
