How are they getting round the anti flooding system?

The anti-flooding that stops you posting more than one post or thread per min?

Waiting 60 secs?

I used to report all the posts - now I just report one as I assumed when the Mods clean up they target the OP so they don't miss any

Having said that the other day there were 4 different OP's so I reported one from each

One report for each spammer is all that is needed. Once we see the one spam post we can also deal with the others at the same time.
Thanks for reporting them. thumbup

This happens so regularly you could wonder whether the site security resembles a bit of swiss cheese and hackers have stripped the servers of everyone's email address and password.

Thanks for the confirmation

The other reason I stopped reporting all posts from each "spammer" is if you do it too quickly you get caught out by the anti flood system rofl

The irony wasn't lost one me hehe

I'm surprised that a function hasn't been written so that if a thread title contains Call Girl or Escort girl and the user profile is less than 48 hours old that the submission is automatically binned.

Then you just get a gazillion variations on gιrl ģ1rl Ɡ1rḶ etc.

We've been chasing our tails with this stuff for decades.

Well I would have thought that any post containing more than about one telephone number of digits would be easy to spot, but what do I know.

You know enough! There's a website I need to use for work which has an algorithm that redacts anything remotely resembling a phone number, using # to replace digits, empirically it looks as though the algorithm picks up anything with 4 or more digits, possibly 5 ,which can be annoying when it's not a telephone number - but it may be tolerable / manageable in this (PH spam) type of situation.

You could specify that every new member's first post, or first two/three/five posts, have to be approved by a mod before appearing on the site. Surely that would catch out the spammers as they would have to construct some legitimate-looking posts before being free to post spam. Obviously creates a new layer of work for the mods.

Well PH have a fking bd swear filter so they should be able to make something fking work with numbers as well for fk sake. smile
