I'm sure many here remember the Britcar meeting at Oulton back in April....the one with the Hailstones hehe

yes

Well, it seems from the reply Skid Solo got from Silverstone that they have at least partially relented and allowed us into the circuit, albeit the perimeter roads and not the centre area. Still, better than nothing and a vast improvement over 2005. Maybe they'll double the gate this year (so that'll be 186 then!). At least I won't have to either a) carry everything around with me or b) trudge out to the car park whenever I want something that I've decided not to lug about the place.

Entry looks good, here's to a cracking event! Monkeyhanger, Vette 1978 and any other hardy PH spectators, let's meet up for a pint over the weekend, assuming they keep the bar open...

Unless I'm mistaken, there was a campsite established within the circuit (behind the paddock) at the LMS race two years ago. I think the intention was to "create a Le Mans type atmosphere." It didn't happen at last year's race, but a precedent has been set so why don't they allow it now?

I think that'll be possible, we're there for 3 days, arrive Friday about 9am so anytime after 11am sounds good for me! Might treat myself to an eye opener from the cool box after the drive though just to get the body prepared for the weekend.

Would any of the Ph missive who are going to spectate, like to help out as spotters?

all it would entail is keeping an eye out for things happening out on the track, accidents, oil, one of our cars in trouble etc and texting me a fast as possible?

Same goes for the Birkett 6hr relay if any of you are going

Cheers

Certainly! If the weathers bad then it could depend on the view from the beer tent but I'll do what I can.

Good stuff! I'll be working Friday but might come along for the Friday evening practice. After that, I'll certainly be there from fairly early on on Saturday morning. It shouldn't be too difficult to spot one another in the vast crowd; I'll be the bloke with a camera wearing something PHey...

Anyone out there got PMR's?

Might be worth setting up a PH channel for incidents on track etc, then anyone spectating or taking part can listen in.

I always carry mine with me.

Yep, definitely.

Might be worth arranging a time to meet up when we get nearer to the day

Spotters around the track sounds like a good idea, imagine the scene:-
car passes Becketts with a puncture..........BEEP BEEP text comes in
car passes Stowe with the same puncture......BEEP BEEP text comes in
car passes Club, guess what..................BEEP BEEP text comes in
car gets to the complex......................BEEP BE... phone gets turned off

Joking aside any help you guys need no prob.

A request from the photographers to the teams: pleaaaaaase can you try and make most of your stickers reflective for the 24h, we get much better night shots that way

I'd rather get the message 10 times than have the car come in unexpected and loose another lap whilst we find tyres

24hrs is a long time to loose by a lap....

especially when recieving texts is free hehe

Hi Graham.

Sorry I couldn't make it to Mallory in the end but I had some urgent car-hunting to attend to. Will 100% be at the 24 Hours so PM me if you need to.

Every time I have previously e-mailed I have got the message back to call them on the advised number. When I have rang and spoken very briefly to JT he has advised me to e-mail him or said the other phones going so gotta go!

Still awaiting a response to an e-mail from December 2004! not that I am counting.

Can we still access the Forum section on the EERC website? as the link seems to have gone AWOL?
