IF ANY TEAM / DRIVER OR SPECTATOR HAS QUERIES REGARDING THE BRITCAR 24 HOUR EVENT ON THE 8-10TH SEPTEMBER OR ANY OTHER BRITCAR / PRODUCTION S1 / BRITSPORTS OR V8 SUPERCAR CHALLENGE EVENTS PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT :

JAMES TUCKER OR CLAIRE WILLIAMS ON 01252 834377.

james.tucker@eerc.co.uk

claire.williams@eerc.co.uk.

Every time I have previously e-mailed I have got the message back to call them on the advised number. When I have rang and spoken very briefly to JT he has advised me to e-mail him or said the other phones going so gotta go!

Still awaiting a response to an e-mail from December 2004! not that I am counting.

Can we still access the Forum section on the EERC website? as the link seems to have gone AWOL?

I am still waiting for a reply from James regarding an e mail about the V8 Supercars in 2007. At Donington he told us (amongst other things) he was seeking Championship status for the series for 2007. The note from the MSA about 'all three of your series have been awarded Championship status' seems to indicate that Champ status for the V8s wasn't even applied for.

If there is one thing I really hate it is people saying one thing and doing another. Play things with a straight bat. No Champ status for next year? No problem - just don't tell me something which is going to make me look like an @rse when I repeat it to my sponsors when it doesnt happen.

And as for the class changing for the 24 Hours - beyond belief....

Part of me says that the V8's not being a championship next year isn't an issue, we have to walk before we can run, one swallow doesn't make a summer, etc....

The other part says that we desperately need it to be a proper championship to attract sponsors.

But has not having championship status ever stopped anyone getting sponsors for Britcar/Britsports/Prod S1?

Rob.

To confirm.....the EERC can announce that we have 2007 championship status for:

Britcar
Production S1
Britsports.

We wanted to apply for status for the V8 Supercar Challenge aswell but the series has not been running long enough. With only half a dozen races under our belts we were told we could not apply yet. If we get full support from teams in 2007 we will apply in 2008. If you want it to be a championship we will apply. We need full grids to show the MSA that its a viable championship.

If you have a query regarding class structure for the 24 Hour please call James on 01252 834377.

Thanks Claire

Thanks for the reply Claire. I don't have an issue with what the position is, I just don't understand why at Donington James said championship status had been applied for.

It leaves me slightly concerned that if/when I ask a question about something that really does matter, will I get a completely straight answer?

Griff2be,

I appreciate your comments but as i said we wanted to apply but the MSA's rules state that you must have had some previous races / results but we only had half a dozen races. With support we will apply in 2008.

Hope this clarifies your queries. CW

If anyones interested in going but is currently ticketless there's 4 tickets on eBay with no bids, starting bid £7. I've already got mine but could be a nice bargain out there for somebody. Only a couple of hours left.
