I have never seen any bad driving on the EVO or any of the other driving roads in the area, I do go early though. Bad driving I have seen in the area seems to be on the A roads that links the better driving roads up (not just the A5). Over the last few years I have mainly passed through Cerrigydrudion with no intention to turn off to the EVO, maybe two to three times in the last twelve months I have used the A543 and B5401 legs. I prefer other roads in the area (as I am sure other do) that are not as ‘notorious’.
I often see the mobile speed camera setting up on the B4501 / A5 junction when on my way home, I am yet to see one on the actual EVO Triangle though.

That's because it's much more profitable to put catch people carrying out a perfectly safe overtake on the downhill 2 lane stretch at Ty Nant up the road.
Re article, 4 fatalities in 5 years and 2 of them very recently and directly connected to the offenders doesn't scream emergency to me.

Just a heads up in case anyone is planning to head in the direction of the triangle
The western edge of the triangle has melted during the recent heatwave so is closed over weekend 30th June/1st July

Bucket list road. Going to visit as staying in the area, disappointed to learn there are average speed cameras all along it. Still, will have a spin round.
I did a quick loop the other night, it's still enjoyable, even if it's just keeping momentum. A543 side still has great views. I wouldn't purposely use head there though.Up at 5:30 and straight out to do a loop. Got some lovely photos. Cameras of course killed any type of pushing it but I could really see why it has been used historically. I was a subscriber to Evo for well over 10 years so I really enjoyed it. Did a more sedate loop in the afternoon to have a look out of the window a bit more.

Thinking of doing this. I know there are cameras and I'm not looking to break any records. Can you still at least have some fun on the ET?Thinking either the ET or around Rhayader. Thoughts anyone?

I did a side of it last week on my way home from a morning blast. It's a little frustrating, as said I wouldn't head there just to drive it. It was nice to take in visually, perfect blue skies, winding empty roads in front and open moorland as far as you can see (A543 side) The big yellow posts do spoil the view when you pass them!Thinking either the ET or around Rhayader. Thoughts anyone?
Worth going to Llyn Brenig for breakfast if you are heading there, that's on the B4501 side. Not the most picturesque road in places now lots of logging has gone on over the last few years; however, a nice place to eat on the terrace looking out over the water.
Gratuitous pic from one evening last year with a friend in his EVO.... on the EVO Triangle.

Been up there today and doing the 'Evo Experience' staying at the Groes Inn too - I think it might have been taken over since my last visit about 10 years ago as it feels a bit more 'chain pub' than it used to. Perhaps I'm just getting older...
For those considering a visit to the Triangle, yes there a lot of speed cameras but you can still have a lot of fun whilst keeping the average below 60mph. That said, we were stopping to take in the view or take photos at every opportunity so very rarely will have done more than about 5mph average between two cameras anyway!
Couple of pics, please forgive the resizing for Instagram..

B5105 just off the triangle to Ruthin is a corker, recently featured in Harry’s Garage Lancia video
This is a great road, especially done from the EVO north to Ruthin. It suits my car very well, the gearbox is constantly being stirred! With so many cameras I would suggest doing the triangle using the brakes as little as possible and just stick to correct gear selection and gear changes to maintain as high a speed (below the limit obvs) through the twisties as safety dictates.
