That does look lovely. May I ask how much you paid for it? The interior looks superb. I had an RS6 avant with the same carbon fibre trim and alcantara headlining, which added over £2500 to the original price paid by the first owner...amazing.

Not at all, it cost me £3,995 and is a WHOLE lot of car for the money IMO. When i was shopping around, all the other examples at similar mileage/condition were around 7-8K and to get others at the same price they were all either very tatty, low spec or had been to the moon and back miles wise.

on a side note its now badged back up and the chav plate is gone smile

I love these. Fantastic car OP, and when the custom exhaust is finished, you will have one of the most comfortable sleepers on the road. Well done.

laugh

Day to day it averages 15mpg and on a run last week I've seen 20mpg but I'm not expecting any more than that TBH.

It doesn't bother me as I'm in the army and my quarter is only just outside the base. I cycle to work during the week which saves a lot of fuel.

Do not underestimate the cars drinking problem though. When I first got it and took it onto the base to take the videos on the first page, I checked the trip computer on the way home and it was a 8.6mpg eek

my day to day average in my Astra VXR is 18... so 15 from a 2.5 ton 4 wheel drive v8 isnt too shabby lol..

either that or vauxhall should be shot!

i suspect people will route for the shooting...

car gets 95% short journey use (no more than 10 miles), i live right on the A12 so it's normally traffic lights and traffic and when i do get a chance its 'make the carpet flat' time

even on a motorway, being EXCEPTIONALLY careful i can only get 28mpg

It's booked in next week for an angel tuning remap which promises 10-17% better MPG (and +50hp although that im a little more sceptical about..)

£195 fixed price.. if it works, its a bargain smile

That makes me very happy with my 2 tonne A6 Avant!! 3.0 V6 diesel and over the last 600 miles I've averaged 33mpg, getting 40mpg on a run to Heathrow and back (and these were calculated figures - the on board computer gave 47mpg).

Yeh i was quite emotional when i saw the audi RS3 with its 330odd bhp and 4 wheel drive was cheaper to tax and better on fuel than my 2wd 237bhp thing..

still - ill let everyone know my thoughts after the map, its gotta improve SOMETHING!!

moving on.. OP.. fancy doing some tunnel vids? smile

i would love to do plenty more vids but im now on a 5 month op tour in Afghanistan until the end of January.

rest assured when i get back there will be vids up. going to visit the in-laws involves the Dartford tunnel and with only a slight detour i can have a play in the Hindhead tunnel too smile

Now that I am back from Afghanistan its time to bump this thread biggrin

First thing, first. When I got back the car was sent strait to my mate's garage to have two silencers put back into the exhaust.

Along with the silencers he changed the tips for a slightly larger set to fill the bumper cutouts better which I like.

Before:

Now:

The car sounds so much nicer now. The popping and banging has gone, there is no droning at cruise anymore, but there is still a nice V8 rumble at idle and at the top end of the rev range she still sings well smile

That looks and no doubt sounds much better! The silencers look to be nicely made.
