The only one I found that breaks up and fits in the boot. No need to get one with less torque - no price difference.

This fits at the side of the pax seat.

Super quality and accuracy, will break too without damaging the calibration, no winding down to zero etc. there is a version where the ratchet head detaches and makes it a little shorter.

Thanks both! Hell of a price for breaking version compared with Teng or Nordal at £300 and is there duty to pay on receipt of parcel from Germany or the States?
One of you has a Nordal so is it worth the extra please?

Close on the tolerances though - spec is 600Nm +/- 5% and this is only rated to 20Nm above that range. At €740 you would want to be buying it somewhere offering a steep discount to make more sense than the Precision Instruments one too.

You bet there is duty/taxes/fees. Came out to just over £400.

Close on the tolerance is kind of irrellavent , it either inside it or not and the Stahwhille is also accurate to +\- 3%, so 40% more accurate, used on Helicopters so as good as you need. Its not the "bargain" of the PI one but i would not know where you could get that calibrated in Europe if you needed to?

ETA more accurate tolerance spec.

£400? Is that for the taxes or in total? If total it is worth the extra £100 for breakability so how long from order to delivery please? £700 including taxes sounds OTT for only 5% accuracy.
I am surprised at the 'accuracy' [or lack of it![ for both as Teng and Nordal are 3% IIRC

Sticking to the UK marketplace. What seems to be a good choice?

Norbar looks like a decent price at around £300 for the 4R or 5R models.

The 4R is 150 to 700Nm and I believe the 5R is 300 to 1000Nm. Which would be the most appropriate purchase? I have no issue with not being able to carry one in the car.

Sorry for the bumpy question, but Would any of this kit be suitable for 997 GT2RS?

Yes this wrench is good for all 997.2 and 991 cars with centre-locks.

I have it for my GTS and I've used it on many other GT3's

I recently purchased the Sealey Torque Multiplier for about £165 from Amazon.

Very happy with it. It is well made and does the job well.

I have a 997 Gen 2 Turbo S - so 600NM required

I did pop into my OPC and speak to the Gold Star Mechanic who kindly gave me tips about which bits to grease etc and how to do the nuts up, slacken them off a 1/6 turn and then torque them back up again. Need to check that the locking mechanism pops out flush with the splines.

Do you not ruin the torque wrench and multiplier if you use them as a breaker to loosen the wheel nut in the first place? This was the attraction of the PI unit.

If you are breaking the nut loose as long as you don't apply more torque than they are rated for and you have adjusted the torque wrench setting higher than what is needed to break the nut loose not a problem...

I use a long breaker bar on the multiplier to loosen the centre locks. I only use the torque wrench to tighten them up.

The multiplier is, I believe, a planetary gear set up so it shouldn't harm it using it up to its maximum torque setting.

OK Great, sounds like I can save some £££. i want this tool so that I can go to an independent tyre fitter if I need to equipped with the right tools even if they don't have them. As long as I can get the multiplier, breaker and wrench in the car, then all is well.
