Aston Martin alternative parts
Discussion
I've come into possession of V12 intake manifold gaskets at a greatly reduced price, but bought more than I needed to make it work. Dont know if it's appropriate to post this here, but it's a good 'alternative' part for which I've never been able to find a replacement that was decently priced.
When is a brake disc not a brake disc?
My V8V is going for its an annual service at the main dealer (just because its near the end of the Timeless warranty and lets get anything fixed under that if poss) next week, I know its going to come back with brake wear and no way am I going to let them empty my bank account with their prices, so will be doing myself at the same time as doing a BC coilover upgrade.
Now, brakes are one area where you don't want to scrimp, but is there any difference between a Brembo disc and an A.B.S. disc? AutoDoc have Brembo at £105 and A.B.S at £75 - maybe not much; but when you're doing all 4? Then we look at pads, I was going to go Porterfield but the difference is even more, A.B.S £14 Porterfield £204!
At the end of the day I'll probably go with Brembo and Porterfield but would be good to know if there are any real world differences especially from those who may have tried them.

Looking at doing a top end service on my DB9. The alternative coil pack listed on this site are too short. Can you take them from the original ones and make them fit. Once done it's over £300 for the inlet manifold gaskets. Don't want to do the job twice. Regards Craig
All you need to do is the fit the original springs and boots from your old coils, no probs. NGK plugs are cheap also. The expensive parts are the 2 gaskets, I do recommend changing those, also remove the throttle bodies and give them a clean with two new rubber o-rings.
I would replace the PCV valves and the injector o-rings.
Not sure how relevant this is but a main dealer is selling stainless bumpers for DBS's for about 2 grand a set.
i can pretty much guarantee these will be made in Vietnam by SG bumpers who sell them direct for less than half that if previous experience with old Jag bumpers count for anything.

Many dealers and online parts suppliers often charge exorbitant prices for essential automotive components, leaving customers searching for more cost-effective alternatives. I know Flying Spares understands these concerns and strives to offer a solution. They provide a wide range of options, including OEM, Genuine, and Aftermarket alternatives, all at competitive prices, ensuring that customers can find the quality parts they need without breaking the bank.
