The new Vantage?

And we could hope for a limited edition V12 version, I know they said the previous one would be the last, but with Aston there’s always a very last one after the last one!
Several AML staffers have indicated, that the V12 TT engine might appear again.
When AML say the last one, it still allows them considerable flexibility. Buyers who think they have one of the last, perhaps have not followed the AML meaning of last. It only applies to the exact model name.
V12 Vantage final TT edition - the last versions of this model have been built.
V12 Vantage S - could be the name of different model, so another opportunity for a V12 TT last time.
V12 Vantage S Ultimate - could be the name of yet another different model, so more opportunities for a V12 TT last time.
In the agricultural industry, I think they refer to this as Milking It.

A simpler nomenclature might be to badge every car as 'Aston Martin Last One'. Then every car is automatically the last one, thereby saving any confusion V12 Vantage final TT edition - the last versions of this model have been built.

'Which Aston do you have?'
'Mine's the Last One'.
'Ah yes, so is mine!'
The good news on a new Vantage is the Vantage gen 2 cars may drop even more as a used car. So if looking for a gen 2 Vantage the price maybe a good buy. The problem I have is the 2005 to 2018 Vantage looks so good I am not sure I would buy a new one. To me a classic look will always win out.

It is possible (or possibly not), that many/some/a few/none, might (or might not), share your opinion.
Shhhh. We are only allowed to whisper opinions here.
I can remember in about 2012, someone said, "I wouldn't want to have the job of designing a successor car for this one".
Anyway, MR remembered the Vulcan and said to AP, "Leave it to me Sir. Your mother will not have any more model confusion after I have finished".
He was quite right. We never heard anything at all from AP's mother after that.
( I am leaving the 'punch line' to others. )

So along came AP’s mum.
Now, after it turns out that AP’s mum turned out not be be the car design guru that AP thought, it looks like we are coming full circle.. back to the future!

funny things, pendulums. From the early 2010s, many of the complaints were “outdated tech, and they are all a bit samey, variations on a theme, all use the same (largely V12) engine, no product differentiation”…
So along came AP’s mum.

I'm in the market for a 2019 Vantage - no serious rush, but would like one this year. I wonder if new V will be priced such that the current model doesn't plummet like a stone?
Whether the new ( new ) Vantage starts at £150k or even higher as some think I doubt plummeting is on the cards given there will already be a sizeable gap.I'd rather go MD for piece of mind - although I appreciate reliability is significantly stronger than it was. I may well compromise for a silver/grey car at some point, but the solid colours (especially black) look quite tired at 15K miles. (the Grange solid black car at Hatfield for instance appears very unloved which makes me wonder about the previous owners - I perhaps naively assumed AM owners are generally enthusiasts) Will see what's around in early September.

They already have. Running $100,000 - $110,000 US dollars. I would bet they probably start to level off, the steep deprecation curve has already happened.Aldhun said:
I am looking for a Vanquish S Volante and the one on Pistonheads have mostly dropped £5k to £10k in the past week or so but none of them are in colour combo I am lookig for. Lots of Black ones which I don't want

APs mum? Andy Palmers mum?
This goes back to the days when the DBS, DB9, Virage and Vantage, all sgared fairly similar designs.
That is something that has certainly never hindered Audi's Russian Doll range of Q3, Q5, Q7, etc. SUVs.
Anyway, Andy Palmer, President of Gaydon and Chief Executive Officer of Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings Plc.,
publicly decreed that his mother must be easily able to distinguish every new Aston Martin model.
Presumably that is why the 2018 Vantage design was more than an evolution.
AP also spoke about the Vantage being aimed at 'new younger wealthy customers', but he subsequently found out that most of them, are quite busy coping with mortgages and children.
