All the bits have now arrived from Autodoc Germany, and the steering knuckle (new, ebay) is due to land tomorrow or Weds. So all being well, will have the car back mended on Wednesday. The bits (bearings, wheel hub, driveshaft, steering knuckle) came to £320, versus the £1100 BMW wanted!

Evri were a nightmare TBH. Firstly (and I've seen this on the drop off photo from this morning) The address supplied was 'F1 Autocentre Worksop/ BMW 335i'. The spanners put the first line of the address as F 335i. Luckily, an astute driver, I would have thrown a proper wobbly if it stopped it getting there. Zero ability to speak to anyone there, and retarded parrot of an autobot being the only option for 'assistance'.

So final bill, likely in the region of £670. At least the arse end wont sound like a spin drier any longer.

The bearings alone from BMW were quite punchy when I enquired. I think it was about £70 per side whereas the FAG jobbies from Autodoc were £60 for both sides.

Ordered a pair of Pilot Sport 5s for the front - after 5 years and 60k miles the PS4s on the front are doing the BMW thing of feathering on the outside. Still lots of meat left on the tread but seems a good time to get them replaced given it was mentioned on the MOT.

Should be fitted by Thursday.

I have PS5's all round and I'm very happy with them so you'll be good.

Hoping to get them fitted in a day or so; they've been ceramic coated so that'll cure nicely for now until it stops pissing it down! rolleyes

I'll be giving the wheel arches and underneath a thorough clean whilst I'm swapping the wheels out etc...

You know; like you do biggrinlaugh

Aye I've got a mix of PS4s on the front and PS5s on the back at the moment, just been waiting for the 4s to wear out. Sadly due to Michelin's durability and how long a BMW takes to wear out its fronts if set up properly, means I've been waiting blooming ages smile

Car is getting picked up shortly, so will report back when I've taken it out for a spin.

I did think about both you and Sam when my wheels were off the car funnily enough Dan. I'm such a lazy arse in comparison, whereas you two would've cleaned the arches thoroughly, plus cleaned the wheels really well while you were at it too. Whereas I just ignored the lot of it, and just put wheels back on instead! hehe

Ha ha, I’d definitely have been cleaning the arches out, and possibly removing the liners to get the crap out that makes it away above them. laugh

Weather is atrocious here today; on/off heavy rain but with some sun in between; not a great day for washing the car but had to clean the interior as it was coated with compost dust; everywhere! Even the headlining got a good patina laugh

All hoovered and wiped down with watered down citrus pre-cleaner; the leathers been given a good wipe down with Dr Leather wipes (these are superb if you've not tried them) and then the alcantara has been brushed clean
Did the seats in my 140 with them after this recommendation - they've done a grand job and means I can put off a 'proper' clean and treat for another day (probably a mystical day that never actually happens)

Cheers for the tip thumbup

No worries; they're really good.

I did give the F31s interior a deep clean this time last year with a lot more involved process on the leather etc (Furniture Clinic kit & it works superbly); but the Dr Leather wipes keep it in shape

Make your hands stink though biggrin

If you've not got it yet the build date of your car is 01/02/1985.

Cheers, and damn lol, hoped it was 84,, hmmm, another one I cannot take home without paying,

I did not realise so few were sold in the UK.

Fuel that came out, 40 litres of it, was not too bad, but since starting it on old fuel, it ran fine until I turned it off, now the fuel pump only works for about 30 seconds, bad idea lol, but helped greatly on getting the thing out.

Replaced the Eibach lowering springs on the M2 with standard ride height Eibachs.

I liked the lowered look, but it changed the ride from firm to firm and bouncy. Much improved with the standard ride height springs back in.
