Had the PS5s fitted yesterday and just taken it out for a spin - first impressions they seem a definite upgrade on my old partly worn 4s. Haven't pushed them yet but seem much quieter and were usefully cheaper smile

HELP, ANYONE PLEASE!!

I took a call from the garage. Although stated by Autodoc as 'correct', it's about 4cm too large, and they compared P/N to the one off my car and it differs.

I paid £92 for the bit from AD. The garage is saying the only place they can local availability want circa £390. Can anyone suggest someone UK who specialises in BMW bits, as fk my life, I'm getting close to going down to the garage with a can of fuel and a box of swan vestas!

Thanks for this. Did call them, and they do have a used one. We gave it a little thought and are going to get the new one. Will definitely keep them as a contact for future use.

Are we talking about the wheel bearing? There's plenty of sellers on ebay, carpartsinmotion is a good one. https://www.partsinmotion.co.uk/

I can vouch for carpartsinmotion, bought lots from them, always spot on, and quick delivery. Never had to return anything.

Always check similar items, they sell under several names on eBay, often the exactly the same items at very different prices.

Autodoc are no good, and a pain to return too, they will sell you correct master cylinders, for LHD cars, as my mate just found out.

I've spent thousands with Autodoc and saved hundreds by doing so, but you do need to be savvy with part numbers/compatibility.

I've also successfully returned items using their Safe Order system and a warranty part claim.

Used the 330i for what I think is my last work trip to Holywahs and it ticked over 170k today.

I stopped off for a ride on the way home…

I timed my return drive home perfectly and had a clear run down the A479 and A458 until Welshpool

Same here, I’ve always found them good but it is worth checking part numbers etc before ordering. They once substituted some shocks I ordered for another brand and I had a bit of a tantrum because they didn’t let me know first and they paid for postage back (I didn’t use safe order).

Sorry, I wasn't clear. It was the driveshaft that was the wrong size. I've bitten the bullet and just paid more for the UK one in stock. It best arrive today so I can collect the car, the whole saga is pissing me off somewhat now.

They are last resort for me, and not had to use them yet, prefer UK sellers that can check compatibility from reg number, rather than removing parts looking for part numbers, then waiting for them.

With the UK eBay sellers, I just buy it, ask them to check compatibility, giving the car details, and refund if it is not, does not delay postage that way, going back and forth with email.

I nearly bought a master cylinder for my GSI, can,t get one anywhere, they had one for around 450 quid, gave then reg number, car details, and they said it was correct, it was not, it was for LHD, clocked before buying, and they sent my mate another LHD master cylinder, for a UK RHD car, when it is a simple check.

They were going to take my money and send a part that was not correct, even though they were given reg and chassis numbers for a UK car.

I’ve generally found their reg checker to be fine. I cross reference OEM part numbers on RealOEM to be sure. The prices are generally way better than anywhere in the UK so the big of extra faff is worth it.

One or two small issues with Autodoc in the past; but never anything major and they've sent me everything needed for full suspension overhauls and cooling system overhauls on E39s, F01 and my F31

I use RealOEM for the correct part numbers and pop it into Autodoc search

If I can get it in the UK I will; but generally UK prices are twice that of Autodoc and that's if they actually have it in stock; in which I've found a lot don't and they just order it in!

But you cannot, at the best of times, source Lemforder, TRW or the main OE makers parts in the UK; so that's where Autodoc come in!

Bilstein B4S shocks for my F31 were £400 all in back in Nov 2023; on eBay UK or via POTN and the likes they were close to £600

Eibach pro kit springs for my F31 - UK c£250-£300 / Autodoc, £170 delivered...

It makes a huge difference
