It is indeed the same. BMW had serious problems with EGR cooler supplier. The dodgy ones normally melt the runner flaps on cylinders 1 and 2 first, but melting a hole in the intake is pretty unlucky. Oil dripping onto the exhaust manifold from a warped cam cover was another source of fire. I check mine quite frequently.If I had kept the car I would definitely have done an EGR delete.
