Hello! I'm a student writing home exams in Product Management at The Norwegian Marketing School. I am doing a paper about BMW. I wondered if there was any data available about how much BMW spent on developing the M3 from the 3-series. It had been really nice if I got some information about where to collect such data. Or any sites where it could be found. I just need an estimate, so I would be real thankful from whole of my hart if I got some tips
If you really really need to find this out here's what to do:
Look through some old magazines and find out the name of some of the developers who worked on the M3. (Hopefully one's you can get a bit of info on on BMW's corporate site)
Then, go onto a site like Monster.co.uk, and find a very senior position in the car industry that would suit one of these guys.
Make up a company name and put the word recruitment after it.
Phone up BMW, ask to speak to Her.Blah, tell him you're a headhunter, have a specific opportunity that will change his career. You obviously can't name the prosective employer, but tell him that they had been particularly impressed with the work he'd done on the M3. Conduct an interview with him about his general experience and then specifically about the M3 project. If you sell it right, he'll sing like a bird.
Unethical, but effective.
