Q: "What about tides?"
A: The tides exist due to a slight see-saw effect on the earth. As it goes back and forth, the water rushes to the side that is lower. Note, this is a very slight wobble. Remember, these wobbles are created by very minor earthquakes. They keep the tides in check. Notice that large earthquakes result in large tides or "tsunami".

Oh lawd....willfully ignorant or just collossally stupid? A little bit of both I think. I find it amazing how people can choose to believe in something for which there is no evidence, at the same time denying the truth in the face of overwhelming evidence. It has to be some form of mental illness, or at least a serious personality disorder.
It's the Apollo Conspiracy mentality - we seem to be going back to the Dark Ages.

That's quite good actually!

I totally agree. How anyone can deny such a colossal amount of factual information is beyond me.I've just been reading their forum and the question regarding the explanation of stellar parallax is a good one. Of course, in true "true believer" style it quickly spirals to petty put-downs - firstly by a brainless FE type. Can we cull them?
A curious theory for no other reason than a sphere is about the most stable shape you can get. e.g. a water droplet forms a sphere, etc... In that respect, surely the earth (wherever it "is") would form the most stable shape to be in equilibrium with it's surroundings - i.e. a sphere...
I wonder how far these people have travelled around the earth, and how they work out that they can return to their starting point..!?

Given the location of that article (www.brownsmouthpiece.co.uk), the attitude is rather refreshing. Usually the beeb are the first to jump on bandwagons promoting subjects that require "true belief" regardless of hard facts. MMGW anyone?
.....and "Globularist"? One who believes in globules? Surely Globist! What a mong!

I wonder if they believe that everything is a conspiracy too? Like the world is being run by the Illuminati and 9/11 was a fit-up.... Lets get them down the pub and have a few jars. I would be worth a giggle, ne ce pas?

Q: "What about the stars, sun and moon and other planets? Are they flat too? What are they made of?"
A: The sun and moon, each 32 miles in diameter, circle Earth at a height of 3000 miles at its equator, located midway between the North Pole and the ice wall. Each functions similar to a "spotlight," with the sun radiating "hot light," the moon "cold light." As they are spotlights, they only give light out over a certain are which explains why some parts of the Earth are dark when others are light. Their apparent rising and setting are caused by optical illusions.
In the "accelerating upwards" model, the stars, sun and moon are also accelerating upwards.
The stars are about as far as San Francisco is from Boston. (3100 miles)
I do wonder if it is all just one big joke, designed to fool people into believeing them. I can't otherwise see how anyone could take the above as a serious explanation.A: The sun and moon, each 32 miles in diameter, circle Earth at a height of 3000 miles at its equator, located midway between the North Pole and the ice wall. ...although not a particularly rare one.Unless they genuinely are simpletons I suspect they are just a bunch of bored people who want to be part of a group. What I find difficult to believe is that anyone would be unable to find something 'better' than this to do with their time... I don't necessarily mean more worthy but simply more interesting and/or more fun.
