Hi Andy,
Nice photos!
1 What is the unit above the nose of the diff. (in the third photo)? Is it gear driven from the propshaft? 2 Where is your handbrake - do not see any mechanism around the rear disc callipers.

Rgds Hamish Possible answers 1 = drive to a pump to circulate diff oil thru a cooler ?? 2 = hydraulic line lock fitted in place of handbrake ?? Cheers Geoff ( new owner to be of baby yellow beast )

Rgds Hamish Hi Hamish Well I have also asked the question about no 1. I am awaiting an answer from Jeff, but from what we can see its a pump for part of the oil system! It's belt driven! no 2. Well Race cars don't have handbrakes, (Extra weight not required) All the Tuscan Race cars also don't have one, unless its been converted to road spec were is a required legal standard! I will post up a few more pics later in the week, so we all can get to know the beast! Andy

Interesting pics Andy - never seen a fan belt on the rear end of a propshaft before. What does that power up?
Also a pic of the front lower arm attachment would help me out if poss as I'm trying to sort my suspension issue out at the moment. I'm glad you're up and about - keep up the rehab to full recovery mate...

Hi Andy
I had an idea you would be asking questions about the front suspension after your failed attempt off upgrading to the SH system! The lower arm is one of the few places Simon didn't take a pic off, but I will get him to do so in a couple of weeks time when he's here again. The top is a modified standard arm with a stronger attachment point! The thing is nobody has mentioned or even realised its a painted chassis, as there has been a lot of talk that its a stainless one like 'Hatters'. Well it certainly doesn't appear to be, or it's had a good paint job on the stainless?

Andy The upper mount is very similar to mine which I put in after the SH coilover warped the original turret. It's very strong and isn't going anywhere in terms of movement. I'd also be intersted to learn about the open damper length and spring rates if known that you have as a comparison to a recomended set of numbers I have recently been given.

Andy Morning Andy Cheers for the reply, would make a nice upgrade as most road cars have them and would help give a bit more control over a standard suspension, could you tell me about the drop links and also how's the roll bar fitted to the rear of the body, regards, Ralph

Ralph
The rear suspension was designed ? for the race car and then adapted for road cars! The drop link and tye bar are the main defferances on the racer compared with the road set up! To be quite honest unless you intend to race your car leave it as it is! The benfit you will get on a road car will be min and most people would not notice it for road use. The same goes for the front, the system is bacaly the road system beefed up and with rose joints. Try uprating the road car by fitting coil overs etc can be a nightmere (Ask GV about that) In my opinon leave it as stock, because you will not notice that much if all you do is normal road use!

Andy I agree - you will gain a lot more by fitting a decent set of dampers to the road car The racer ran anywhere between 650 and 1200lb springs
