Not sure if this is the right forum to ask in, but I couldn't find one more suitable.

I'm looking for a rally driving course/experience for a birthday present for someone new to it but who's always wanted to do it. I've been looking around for recommendations but I've only been able to find the odd comment here and there.

No ambitions to get into it seriously, so not a 'proper' course as such, but on the other hand I'm definitely not after a £99 'experience' with little driving time. I was thinking of at least a day, two days max. Decent birthday present!

Based in Hampshire but would travel as far as Derbyshire / mid-Wales. The trip could tie in with other things.

All suggestions/feedback gratefully received!

Cheers,

Stephen

Land Rover Experience - Eastnor / Malverns.

Cracking location, nice hotels, etc... so easy enough to make a weekend of it.

These seem pretty good. It's not WRC stuff but £300 or so will get you a car and instructor for a day.

I did this one years ago when it was owned by Jan Churchill. http://www.higginsrallyschool.com/rally-driving-fu...

I've heard the Higgins family have kept the standard up and you do a 'proper' stage rather than an airfield one.

Thanks for all the suggestions - checking them out now.

I've done the LR thing before (and it was great - amazing vehicles) but definitely looking for something with a bit more sideways action this time!

Cheers,

S
