Having promising myself to go to Zolder for the last 14 years I thought I would finaly get round to it this year. now it looks like it is over subscribed and not as much fun. So is it worth going and is there a date yet? Is there any camping? do people go for the event only or do they make a week of it. Do the people in the north make a ferry block booking or is it up to the individual.
thanks for any advice to a novice.
Graham.

Yes, not that I know of, yes/not sure, don't know.

I've been going since 1982 and some years I've not even taken a TVR. Don't eat for three days beforehand and you'll be ok.

Provisional date is 17/18 June

Graham - A lot of people (that you probably already know) go from Yorkshire, so you will be in good company. People make a half week/week of it and usually stay in the same motel together. I am aware that two TVRs are already booked on the Hull-Zeebrugge route; and five TVRs on the Hull-Rotterdam boat, all from Yorkshire & Humberside TVRCC region.

Brave people! As far as I know, the date is still provisional. I'll book my crossing when I see the date on the booking form.

The date is final: June 16, 17 (trackday) and 18.

Just do it. It is without doubt the highlight of the TVRCC calendar. If people knew how good it was I reckon it would be massively oversubscribed so get your application in early and keep your fingers crossed!

I've booked for Le Mans, so no Zolder for me this year.

I don't know of any camping facilities around Heerlen ( the hotel base in the Netherlands) but there is camping around the circuit at Zolder (Belgium) it is a 30-40 min (I think?) trip between the two so you wouldn't want to go to the dinner-dance and then have to drive back to a campsite that far away.

I'll look into the possibility of any camp-sites nearer Heerlen.

Hi Russ,

Mon and I are hoping to make it to Zolder this year. It would be great to meet up again. Are the dates definitely confirmed now? When are you expecting to receive the booking details and would you please send or e-mail a booking form to us? By the way, is it an odd or even year, well I mean is it a solo or family year for you?

regards

Leon

Leon - good to hear from you!

I will be using PH to announce arrival of the forms but if you want to e-mail me on zolder@russ-wood.com then I will send you one as soon as possible.

The dates are confirmed but last year the track changed things at quite a late date so bear this in mind for booking ferries etc.

It should be the last "on-my-own" year as Mike should be off to uni in September - freedom!

CAMPING

Have a look at www.indenhof.nl - it is all in Dutch but I am sure that e-mails will probably be in English. This is NOT a recommendation and you should look around for others as well with Google.

I get the impression that the word "camping" in the Netherlands might also include caravanning - perhaps a Dutch reader could clarify.

Inseminator - I have been talking to the lads and we will ensure you have a single female in your room when you arrive.

You will have to bring your own foot-pump though, with your luck with pumps you might be disappointed.

Graham,
already booked on Hull-Zebrugge. You can still get some good savings if you book now. Some people make a week of it but we travel out on Wednesday night and back on Sunday night. If you travel out and back within 5 days it is a lot cheaper on the ferry.

If the dates change you can ammend your ferry booking for £5.

Don't even consider camping. One of the main parts of the weekend is the hotel. The food is fantastic, the staff verywelcoming and it is a great atmosphere just sitting on the terrace drinking a beer watching the cars arriving /leaving.

Hope my car is back by then.

Alan
