E46 M3 issues after storage

Morning all,

My E46 M3 has been stored for a while (sacriledge I know) but work commitments made the choice for me.

Yesterday I needed to move it. The fuel was really low around 15 Miles. I removed fuse 54 and oil primed the engine.

She then started fine but started running like a dog. I plugged in and the reader showed there was misfire on various cylinders with and without cutout. And some strange fault to do with an empty tank.

I popped to the petrol station and got a can of Super then tried again. It ran, but still misfired. I tried to drive it just on my road, but it cut out and now will not start.

I had my 'M' head on yesterday and proceeded to flap.

The fuel filter probably hasn't been changed for over 2.5 years. Would this be a good place to start?

How long has the car been stood unused?

Are you able to take the plugs out to see if any of them have anything obvious? Might be worth starting there to see if fuel is getting through or the plugs have become fouled up.

The issue ours had was that the rubber sealing ring between the pump and the fuel tank under the seat melted like gold under heat and it blocked the pump and killed it.
