Building Regs certificate
Discussion
Mine took a couple of months, due to the building control officer leaving & not handing it over to anyone. Sat in a dead mailbox no doubt!
Luckily out architect/agent knew the building control boss & he soon got it sorted for us.
The completion certificate was then visible to us on our council website.
I was also sent the pdf

It will come from whoever the building inspector is.
That might be the local council, it might be a 3rd party company that was engaged by the builder. (I've had both)
Last extension I did the builder just never seemed to get around to getting the final inspection done so eventually I contacted the local council BCO officer myself & they came round, did the inspection, signed it off and sent the certificate.

Can anyone offer some advice please - recently had an extension completed, where does the certificate for building regulations come from? Yet to receive and feel like Im getting fobbed off.
have had final inspection from building control.
Builder? Building Control? or somewhere else?
It will come from whoever you appointed to do your building control once they are satisfied that the works are compliant.have had final inspection from building control.

Why do you feel you are being fobbed off? Who did you ask about it and what did they say?
If you’ve not received it yet, then the most likely scenario is that there is something outstanding, such as certificates that still need to be provided or defects that need to be resolved.

Shouldn't the Building Control Officer inspect the foundations before you start building ?
Whats that got to do with the OPs query?Hes had the final inspection so one would assume he has had all the other inspections along the way.
From memory our took a few weeks to come through OP

We had work completed in Feb, the builder took the lead with the building control. I now know that the final certificate is yet to be received as yet as building control are still waiting for information from the builder. The builder is currently ignoring me and not communicating.
So I now have the laborious job of chasing them every week until they do what they need to do.

See above, have you talked to the BCO yourself? If not then try that, it might well be just a matter of arranging an inspection. If they are waiting for some info then it might be something like the Part P from the electrician. If so, again, go directly to the electricianWe had work completed in Feb, the builder took the lead with the building control.
