Are they hard to do correctly?

I ask because no wants to quote a price and getting it and the tensioner done and id rather avoid a main dealer.(0.9 TCE engine)

It's not hard to do. It's a normal poly-v belt that doesn't have to be timed in any way, and a tensioner that bolts in with 1 screw. There might be an idler pully (not sure how the layout looks like) that could be good to replace as well (bearings wear out).

It's job that although not difficult could be made such by lack of access. If you're considering tackling it yourself make sure that you can reach everything ok.
