Hmmm. Gatso mania. Zero tolerance, and SPECS.

Let us think about this for a moment. When zero tolerance, or "+2" tolerance (whatever you wanna call it) becomes law, all the enforcement will be there to rip you off.

When everyone twigs, and slows down, the revenue stops. So they drop the speed limits again. Catch loads more people, and repeat until everywhere has a 20mph limit. And maybe lower in towns.

Buying detection hardware is fine, but in the end, pointless. The real problem is the government, and the police.

The enforcement hardware needs to be removed legally, or we all may as well get our pedal bikes out - 'cos no one is gonna have a license left.

And for those heroic enough to burn a few gatsoes, what you think will happen when you get caught? I salute your efforts, but we have to beat the scum legally. Get writing letters to your MP, to the press, to everyone.

The Yanks got rid of 'em, why not us?

Anyone know exactly how the Septics and Canadians got rid of their cameras ??

Was it sustained action and lobbying by protestors or did their governments, in a break with centuries of tradition, realise the error of their ways and scrapped them all by themselves ??

It may give us some clues about how to tackle the problem here.
