I read many good reports on this site and elsewhere about the Morpheous Geodesy. Am thinking of getting one but now (supposedly) fixed cameras are to be painted bright colours and also not hidden from view will this defeat the object slightly, or am I missing something?

Tell you what, take a deep breath, and let it out when the fixed cameras are painted bright colours. That way you'll save the money buying a Geodesy since you will have expired many months before the cameras change colour.

They will only change colour in SOME areas, so you`ll need to be one of the lucky ones.

If you check out the Geodesy website www.morpheous.com then they list the types of camera that the unit will warn you about. This includes SPECS cameras which I doubt you would notice no matter what colour they were painted. Also as was pointed out only authorities that have signed up to the revenue retention scheme should! be repainting their cameras.
So I would say get one particularly now that it has been updated to the Geodesy Plus model.

Thanks for the replies, so moving on anyone had any experience of the Origin "blue i" that appears to work on a similar basis with a few more features?

The Blue-i isn't ready yet, as I understand it.
