Supposedly he would bet a potential buyer that he or she could not stand up from the passenger seat, reach over the windscreen, and grab a hundred dollar bill from beneath the wiper while the car was accelerating from 0 to 100 MPH. If they could grab the bill, it was theirs to keep. If they couldn't, well the force of being pushed back into your seat should make a great enough impression to sell the car.
