Took a trip down to Goodwood for the breakfast club yesterday and nestled in the corner of the paddock were a selection of 500 Arabth's, sealed with 'Do not open' stickers over every body panel. Apparently they are there for the launch of the 500 when dealers from all over Europe will get a chance to thrash them around the race circuit. Pictures for anyone who is interested;
Lovely pics. According to the poster from Drivers Republic on these forums it was the press launch for the car this week so expect first drive reviews very soon.
Interesting to see the tactic of launching a 160bhp 'Opening Edition', I didn't see that coming.
Still no word on prices though!!!

Hi - Does anyone know when these are going to be for sale in the UK?
I have to have one...
They'll hit the roads in January, or at very least early, 2009. As soon as you can find a local specialist Abarth dealer in theory you should be able to put some money down to secure one.I have to have one...
News about the official Abarth dealers is starting to trickle out now.

I'll pop down to the Fiat dealer in Marylebone and see what the score is...
I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on one of these.
I was out in my 500 last night on some of my favourite driving roads and have to say even with a meagre 100HP it was pretty entertaining, as I hurled the 500 from one apex to the next I was musing to the missus what the Asetto Corse with twice the power would be like and she just replied 'really scary!'.
I think that was my cue to return to a more sedate pace......
Didn't work.

Just been down to Fiat in Marylebone. ETA is Q1 next year.
They'll take £1k off you now and this secures you a place for providing a spec. They didn't have any real details on the specs but they guy I spoke to said that it's very likely that you'll be able to spec the SS upfront, rather than wait until later in 2009 for an upgrade.
I assume there will be a lot more information when the Italians get back from holiday.
