These are the same as I bought for my V8S - doeskin in colour and they match TVR doeskin perfectly.

  • Edited to add a bit more info - the XJS coupe / convertible must have had the sports pack to get these seats. That means there are XJS seats out there that are much wider than these - use your eyes and it is fairly obvious.
I haven't fully fitted mine yet and the seat belt mount to the centre console is tight - so they might need a bit of fettling to make them fit. They are tight but do fit, and are very nice quality.

Link to seats on ebay here (actually a complete jag interior).
As a guide I paid £142 for an entire interior a couple of months ago.
In the end the seller let me have just the seats for £100.

Pic of mine sitting in the car below (but not yet fully fitted - so if there are issues its not my fault!)

Why are they different to the original seats? What seats the originals? The XJS do look a little more comfortable on longer journeys.

Pretty sure from the research I did that the S seats were made for TVR and were not sourced via another car maker. If you check out the base and back of the frames on a stripped seat you will find that the base is a 'standard' item but the back is a 'custom' item which, judging by the different standard of construction, may well have been made 'in house'.
The Jag seats Chris has may well be absolutely identical material as the guy who trimmed my seats established that the doeskin Ambla material on my (original) S seats showed on the material suppliers records as having been to a Jaguar order!
I found another Jag in a breakers with identical material (but the seats were damaged). I did, incidentally, note that the XJS with doeskin seats had matching colour seat belts which would fit in an S.

I did some research on seats (Sad eh?) and it seems that many of the TVR colours are Jag colours - in the same way they nicked other makers paint colours.

I also think the original seats were made for TVR - the problem my wife and I have with the original seats is that kink forwards in the middle of the backrest - we are both tall people and they are very uncomfortable.
The jag seats have a straight backrest and although I've only sat on them on the garage floor they are very comfortable and great quality.
The jag seats I have are also heated if you fancied hooking up 20 year old heating elements in a fibreglass car eek

Richard with regards to the seatbelt it would have to mate with the TVR stalk - I assume you mean it did - the jag buckle is attached to the seat and is no good as it has to be removed (you have to drill out the rivets).

Take your point on the buckle Chris, I have to admit it was the spool arrangement I looked at and I dont know if you can get another stalk which matches and would fit with the Jag seats in.
Must remember to do a detailed post on fitting alternative seat belts as I did find a solution for mine.

I emailed the seller as it says on the listing that they are electric seats.
They are not - but they do have seat heating and an electric lumbar support which is identical to the ones I've got.
I haven't figured out the lumbar support yet and don't intend to connect the seat heating.

Jesus it's like waiting for a Bus!

Another set in what the seller describes as cream.
I've looked at the Jag colours I know and am struggling to be more specific.

and another set in Jaguar Magnolia! Drivers seat looks a bit worn.
