Hi guys, what a great weekend I had. Three amazing days full of cars, friends and sunshine.

I'll put up a few themed topics - drivers, racing series, cars and such - forthcoming weeks / months but on this one I'll post 'the general impression', various snaps and anything goes.

Enjoy!

Postbox Alfa Junior Bertone is a fav, could not resist!

Gibbons E-type kissed the armco.

Webered straight six still in one piece.

A few steps further this sensibly racer.

I said Lola's but I changed my mind: first friends!

Neil Hardy shared this '54 Healey 100M with Jeremy Welch.

Dutch TV-presenter Allard Kalff drove this 600 brake / 750 Nm GrandSport Continuation car in the 6 Hours.

Joe Twyman checking his mate Olly Bryant out. Beautifull original Lola T70 Mk3B.

Roger Wills' Macca M1C was off so he brought his 1.6 Cortina powered Elva Mk7 instead.

Jon Minshaw saw a win in saturdays Sportscar masters Race. Last years 6 Hours winner TUFF 4 blew its engine. "Ah well, I didn't bring a spare . . ."

1100 snaps . . . I'll start theme-related topic along the way, this one would be too long!

As for the cramped Cob seats: Barry said he'd make my ordered FIA 289 - he brought the one featured in the PH article to Spa - a bit more spacious.

Awesome colour and decent 300 brake Ford in there. Engine idled smooth, no sidepipes, no overdone extra features: a clean cut Cob and I loved it.

Toploader 4-speed with the handbrake pressed in my rightknee. The off set pedals are ok with me but I need a bit - just a bit - of stretch for my legs to move my feet for action. Seats were a bit too padded for my liking, I like 'em harder and maybe a bit higher. This will save another extra 2 inch in length to move.

Sorry I'm a detail guy about this. But then: one would be driving on the inch with a car like this! Snaps to follow.

Lottery first! Thanx Barry!

Spa Six Hours 2009 - Voiture 65 - Porsche 2.0 de 1965.

At 8.57 he passes Richard Evans' MGB wheel - with centre missing and at 9.22 he passes his MGB with sparks coming off the nearside disc.

Richards wheel broke and here's part of his story:
"I came through Pouhon and Les Fanges fine but with no warning as I turned into Stavelot my front left wheel parted company with the car and flew off into the gravel. I was flat out in 3rd and just about to take overdrive so doing about 90mph. The car crashed to the ground but I managed to steer it around the corner with the disc and hub scrapping along the ground. What should I do? I knew the race was over as far as a result and was concerned but we couldn't just stop after less than 15 minutes could we? There was only one thing for it - drive back to the pits on three wheels - so that is what I did. 2 miles or thereabouts.

I stopped outside the pit garage amidst a huge throng of people and lept out to survey the damage, The wheel had BROKEN. The centre was still attached to the hub and the disc was somewhat hexagonal after dragging on the road for so far. After some discussion and checking we put another wheel on and I went out again, somewhat gingerly. We had lost eight and a half minutes plus the extra time it had taken me to get back to the pits and we were 98th and last."

Bloody exciting stuff if there ever was one!

Hi Dinks,
I've still not managed to getting around to sorting my Silverstone pictures. I took well over a 1000 shots but most have just ended up on the cutting room floor.

I have however finally got around to sorting our your D-type picture. Thanks :-)
For my birthday we got it blown up to 20"x16" and got a nice frame for it. Now I just need to move the picture hook so it looks better on my wall.

Pity I could join you at Spa, looks to have been a great weekend.
Cheers
See you next year Ken: it's a must come!

I'd love to see a picture of my D-type picture on your wall wink

It's such a compliment.

Discussing summers holiday 2010 in S.UK at the moment, should be good.
