207 head gasket

The other half has just been told the head gasket on her 4 year old 207 has gone. It's only done 27,000 miles but only really does short trips. I have not had a chance to look at it myself but was wondering if is this a known / common problem?

She has a couple of quotes to repair but what would you expect it to cost?

Thanks for the responses. I'm not sure if its an 8v or 16v and will look into it (I'm nowhere near!).
