Pilot sent a mayday 1 minute before landing apparently.
Reports of no survivors frown

Confirmation of at least two survivors, also speculation over on PPRUNE, that, looking at the undersides of the engines, the reason for the initial go-around could be pilot aborted first landing as gear not deployed, which damaged the engines causing them to fail on the 2nd landing attempt.

Your toaster doesn’t take 10 seconds to hold down the lever for it to lock in place. That makes it unnecessary to have audio alarms and voice alarms saying “Toast cold. lever” or 3 red warning light showing the lever was up.
You don't know that. It could be one of those expensive Dualit ones.

I was just watching this video about belly landing in a 767 and one of the passengers describes it as "one of the smoother landings I've ever had"

I am guessing that the pilots are maybe focusing extremely hard on getting this right. Not suggesting that they would not normally do so, but this was not a run of the mill landing.

Anyone any thoughts on 1 in 3 PIA pilots have fake licenses ?

Just saw one go over on Plane Finder, not sure I want 777's driven by chaps with a copy of MSFS 2004, Observers book of planes and lots of enthusiasm flying over.

Is that a PIA thing only, have heard of one US airline having a guy who got away with it for years but otherwise thought it would be very hard to secure a seat without actual verified qualifications and expereince ?
How difficult can it be?
I saw someone land a plane in the airplane movies back in the 80's and we're much more advanced now!

What routes do PIA use to the US, do they overfly Europe, in which case presumably these flights are banned also?
