Hiya
Iam after a very general ball park price for supply and fitting of 2 double glazed windows to go in 2 of the bedrooms of a generic 50's 3 bed semi. Both rooms are about 3m x 3m, dont know window size (sorry) but just the standard.
Edited to add, it would be replacing old style single glazing with rotten wooden frames, if that makes any difference. Not bay windows just normal.

Am really after just a ball park, as I have no idea if its £500 or £5000 or more.
Any info would be great.
Thanks
Andy :-)

Depends on the size of windows, but I'd guess around £4-500 per window.

Ideally by someone who is FENSA registered as well.

Thanks thats great. It really was just a ball park figure I was after. I know super posh expensive windows can be loads so good to hear I wasnt too far off with £500 per window for just bog standard.

Cheers

Andy :-)

I've a very good contact for a guy who supplies and fits in the Manchester area. He's done a good few jobs for us, full houses as well as just a couple of windows. Very good prices too. PM me if you want his number for a quote.

Thanks for the offer Ade.

At the moment its just looking at moving and roughly budgeting to see how much it would be to replace knackered single glaze with some double glazing.

But feel free to PM me his details but nothing might happen if I dont end up taking on the place.

Cheers

Andy

Should give you a rough idea of materials cost for off the shelf stuff.

Hi Ade
I know this is an old topic, but I would be grateful if you could PM me with the details of your contact. I'm interested in having several windows replaced and soffits etc. I live in the Trafford area.
Thank you.

Just as a rule of thumb, in Birmingham, the going rate is equiv to £200 a window (£220 with an opening). So a 5 window bay is £1000. FENSA registered and installed price. Price is the same for both thin and thicker frames too (worth checking when obtaining quotes as some will use a bigger frame to reduce the amount of glazing required).

HTH with price comparisons.

(I don't own a glazing company by the way but have recently had 2 houses glazed).
