The rare 1 and between 1000 ever made car thread A to Z
Discussion
Heres two (make that three):
Healey Silverstone - erm 'bout 100 made 1948 to 1951 or so including LeMans and Targo Florio cars. So named because it beat the likes of Ferrari and Aston to win the TT at Silverstone in erm, 48 or 49.
TVR 1600 M - the first batch circa 1972 had about 120 cars in it I think.
Oh, add Sylva Stylus's - about 16 completed examples

Thats the wheels mine had & in that colour, if thats in the UK its probably my old car as it was the only Red one imported. Any details.
here some details;
South Africa's Own Cars
Bob van Niekerk, Willie Meissner and Vester de Wit conceived and designed this
car during 1956. Then they formed the GSM company and started manufacturing
the first two prototypes during 1957. The car proved to be almost unbeatable in
South Africa as well as various racing circuits in Europe.
1959 GSM Dart
(Sold as a Delta
in the UK)
1964 GSM
Flamingo
The cars were launched as open cars and a removable hardtop only followed later.
The Flamingo was a further development and differed in many respects.
A good number of these cars have survived in South Africa, as well as in the UK,
USA and Canada!
There as also a V8 from this car...but maybe only one car made...
here 2 on one picture

De Tomaso from his first production car the Vallelunga he made 50<>60 cars...weighting only 700kg, nice.
also a one of spider...
on this picture you can see the close same looks as a Ginetta G12 also same era...and GT40 type doors...
DE Tomaso Mangusta only 401 made from 1967<>1970 with a nice V8 and strange engine cover opening.
Sometimes its nice when you get new ideas when looking in old car books, some amazing cars through the years, some I have never seen for real.

Clan Crusader - factory built with a load of government backing in a state of the art (for the time) factory in Washington, County Durham. Only around 300 built overall between '71 and '73. Great little car - I owned one and will post a pic if I can work out how
