I was never allowed to sit on the arms of the sofa.

Now I own my own sofa, and sit on the arms alot. Nothing bad has happened, despite me weighing about twice as much as when my dad used to tell me off for it.

Judo, most of my friends did it and I really wanted to do it.

They just kept saying no.

I wasn't allowed to watch Grange Hill. I also wasn't allowed a moped. I also wasn't allowed to go skateboarding unless I kept up with my dinghy racing.

Funnily enough my parents wouldn't allow me or my brother toy guns.

Later we both ended up in the Great Britain Shooting Team for rifle.

Oh and have a BMX.

Apparently the handle bars were to wide and could be clipped by a passing car, knocking me off.

Wasn't allowed to dress casually when traveling to a holiday destination. Had to wear a suit to go on a plane! Aged 6.

Cases were packed an ready to go as soon as the holiday was booked, even if the holiday itself was 6 months away. So basically had little to wear in the interim.

Result...I always travel like a tramp, and I don't pack until the taxi to the airport is pulling into the drive.

I was allowed to but now I go mental if someone does and make them get off and sit on it properly. I have no idea why it bugs so much but it really truly does.

When I was young we had bubblegum rules. These were things we were not allowed to do in her presence or in our house. They included swearing, smoking, sex and, a little weirdly, bubblegum (hence the name).

50. And scarred for life! hehe

I was brought up by my grandparents and it was my grandmother who had the travel hang ups. She was ok with most things but had some odd quirks.

Me either, or EastEnders. I can only presume my mother had something against Todd Carty.
