New Michelin Pilot Power 3 tyres

Has anyone heard much about these? Brand new out and are the replacement for the Power Pures giving 20% more life and better wet and dry grip.

Michelin don't have them up on their site yet, but I can source them with my usual supplier.
I need something a bit longer wearing than my Pirelli Rosso Corsas (that I love) as I have a big trip to France in June that will involve more miles than I get out of the Rosso Corsa rears. I liked my Power 2CTs my Ducati had on it when I got it, but they lacked a bit of feel compared to the Pirellis.
And before anyone starts - I'm not interested in the Michelin Road 3. It's not "all the tyre anyone needs" - they lack the feel and profile of a good fast road tyre regardless of the outright grip level.

As for the PP3's try them out... The pilot pures were very good except in cold weather.
PR3s would be top of my list if I was doing a 7K mile tour or did masses of miles in all weathers, but that's not the case.TBH I agree with the 'feel' comment...

The tyre I need to buy needs to feel great and handle up to 3K miles of non-motorway road thrashing, then get back and do a track day.

Looking further at the forums and youtube vids, I think they're too new for anyone to have worn out a set on the road yet. It also seems like they are an evolution of the 2CT. I have been running Pilot Pures for the last 2 years on the road, and they were better than the previous 2CT tyres they replaced. This was both feel on the road, and the tyre life. You will have no problem running them down to Central France.
For road riding (I don't think Loon like them for the track), I really rate them (Pilot Pure), so as long as Michelin haven't messed them up, the new tyres I expect to be good too.

I've been thinking of giving these a go next, or the rosso corsas. Do the rosso corsas not wear too well 3DP?
If it was possible to get 3K from the new PP3's they would be pretty much ideal.. thought they would wear quicker than the old power 2cts though as the new PP3s are effectively a revised power pure which was softer than the PP2. The rear power 2ct on the R1 has worn a fair bit and it's only at about 1800 miles.

I've ridden most tyres on the road over the years and the Rosso Corsas are the best tyres I've ever used (including feeling better than Supercorsas on the road). I've never had much luck with tyre life on Pirellis going back to the days of the Pirelli Dragon Corsa.On my 600, I've managed 2250 miles of hard road use with no track use. They probably have under 500 miles left in the rear. I'm happy with that and have just put them on the Ducati as well, but a specific set of circumstances around a bike trip means the mileage is a bit marginal.
If you don't do a tonne of miles and want the fast road tyre of the moment, I'd definitely say the Diablo Rosso Corsas are it. Nice carcass - not too stiff and not too soft, with a compound where you can literally feel the tread key in to the surface and shuffle. Warm very quickly too. Lovely.
Speaking to tyre suppliers (SMC and FWR), most people are getting 3-4K miles out of the Pirelli rears.
I'd probably be alright with the Pirellis on the trip, but I'd rather not be worrying about tyre life during the trip and taking it easy to preserve them.

I didn't mind them on track for the earlier & colder months, but despised them on the road. They just felt wrong, like the front wanted to wash out all the time. It didn't and it was probably more down to me, but I'm heading back to Pirellis for the road this year.

I've back to backed PR3, BT023s and Roadsmart 2s in the dry and wet on track. The PR3 is a fantastic tyre but does overheat on a dry track (shocking I know...) but I actually found the Roadsmart 2 a better all round tyre.Are you absolutely sure they aren't what you *really* want?.
