Hi

Well its that time of the year again.

This thread is to start the process of getting nominations for this years Wedge personality of 2013!

The Wedge personality is for the person who has done the most overall things for the Wedge World on and off this Forum for 2013!

Please can we just keep it to the nominator and a seconder with the reason/reasons for the nomination of the personality!

Nominations must be in by June the 10th.

Then the nominated will be asked if they accept the nomination.

The e-mail voting for the those who can't make BBWF can then start (More details of this at a later date.)

The remainder of the voting will take place for those who attend BBWF!

This way we allow the majorty of interest wedge owners the opportunity to vote!

The winner will be anounced during the evening of the fest before the Charity Raffle and then later on the Forum!

I would like to Nominate

Andy Hutcheson

For his efforts in preserving wedges for future generations, unbelievable commitment to the TVRCC and this forum despite facing other bigger challenges.

Good choice. To make it a two-horse race (we need more nominations... come on everyone) I nominate

Oliver Winterbottom

who is a real larger than life personality, has some cracking stories, and is a great sport for coming along two years in a row.

Although i agree with the first two nominations i think Adam's choice is more applicable for if it wasnt for Oliver we wouldnt be on this forum as there wouldnt be a wedge!..He is a larger than life jolly character full of TVR history stories and has a great sense of humour to go with it so i nominate Oliver winterbottom too...Cheers..Ziga

I think the 'Personality of the Year' should be someone dedicated to putting in hard work and effort to make things happen for the Wedge owners, and someone who is popular and well liked. I can only think of one person that fits, and that's the person we all turn to for advice in times of Wedge difficulties, and that is Mr Tank.(Andy)

My second choice would be Mr. Oliver Winterbottom as he was the original person to put the effort in to make things possible from the start, and that he is well known and liked amongst Wedge owners.

Hi Gentlemen

I find this a bit hard to comment on as I have been propossed for this coverted award!

I would like to point out that this award is for the Wedge Personality who has done things during late 2012 in to 2013 for the wedge world!

Oliver is a great bloke but what has he done for the wedge world during that time?

Up to last years fest most of you had never even meet him or may even not have know what he looked like!

But I think we do need to recognise his achievement and give him some thing for this!

I propose that we present him with some thing at the fest.

The cheap thing would be to get a Tankard with some sutable words or some thing which would cost a little bit more!

Like to get a smaller version of the "wee-man" Trophy with words like "Presented to Oliver Winterbottom. Thank you for designing the wedge for all of us to enjoy" or some thing similar!

I am prepeard to put some thing towards this myself, this way we can thank him in style!

What do you gents think?

Andy

Some good nominations so far chaps.

I'd like to add one name to the list.

Trickie Dickie.

As RO for TVRCC West Yorks he is very active in promoting Wedges all year round.
He organised a great BNG last year, and worked with Zig to arrange the Calendar shoot. A top all round (no offence Rich) bloke.

There can only be one winner and that is Chris Wood (Jack Valiant).

Chris took a lot of time and effort and indeed expense (he personally paid for the "awards" tankers, I think we should all remember this when the awards were given even if one award was meant in gest) in preparing our recent "W Day" TVR trip to France and Belgium. It was an excellent day and everyone had a really good time.
In addition to the above Chris kindly prepared my wedge the night before and if it wasn't for Chris' help I would not have made it.
Chris regularly posts on the forum and is always eager to help anyone.

Finally Chris has shown what true wedge ownership is all about (he has owned his wedge for 14 years +) and has tastefully modified his and has no desire to sell it in the near future.

As far as I'm concerned mate, you are the "Wedge Personality of the Year" biggrin

Suppose I'd better crack on with some work now...........

This is not an easy task!..There are so many decent nice folk that own a wedge and do so much more for than just the wedge community that it was almost impossible for me to decide and thats why i chose Mr Winterbottom..I should imagine it must be like having to make the choice between shooting the dog or the missus..Im glad i have neither...hehe..But seriously..I must say this..When you buy a wedge you also become part of a brotherhood of genuine down to earth really kind people who in my eyes all have equal standing for the award but for different reason's..I raise a glass to each and everyone of you...Ziga....
