Morris Dancers! jester

Funny thing is I didn't realise this until I was in my 30's. On the day in question, I was walking through the city when I nearly bumped into a Morris dancer in the street. Without thinking, I panicked and immediately diverted into the nearest shop (Games Workshop) much to the bemusement of the missus. Turns out it was connected to a childhood incident.

I am OK with them now but I have to put brain into 'rational-thinking' mode 1st.
Weird, I know. It's always a topic of conversation when we go to our local folk festival.

Based on that google search, Id be surprised if anyone didn't have trypophobia hehe
I have this but didn't realise it had a name! People have made fun of me for not liking things with lots of dots or holes. I feel a little less weird now.
I felt that way about snakes. And worms. And slugs. Nothing much else.

Having handled snakes (hots, abroad, illegally kept, hours away from anti venom) I came out feeling better. But nearly fell over backwards digging up a few worms whilst gardening this weekend past.

I suppose that having no reason to handle worms, I'll probably never get over them.

So er, handle someone with maggots in their gums or hundreds of holes in their foot, you'll then be fine smile

Right. I've been trying to desensitise myself with regards that holes-thing by looking in detail at all of the pics in Google images.

Let me tell you - IT. DOESN'T. FRACKIN. WORK.

Feel slightly sick in the pit of my stomach.

What has been seen.

I have a fear of rooms without open windows. I feel really sick and uneasy when I'm in a room without an open window. Is that silly or strange?

I refuse to reveal my worst phobia as one of you lot might chase me with one. None of you know me, but why take a chance.

As for that holeyphobia thing. The pics from Google images that were photo-shopped to look creepy, were. The other ones of sea sponges or other naturally occurring objects weren't, so I guess I don't have that one.

Wow. I never knew the "holes" thing was anything more than in my own screened up mind but those Google images are quite disturbing. Fascinating too. But holes... Wow. How horrible.
yeah its just creepy and makes me feel uneasy, strangely it makes me want to keep looking at it..
Agreed, I never knew what that was but had always felt that way, all those holes just leave me feeling uneasy, yet I had to keep looking at the images.

I'll also be another who is uneasy about Moths, but I'll also add Butterflys and to a lesser degree Daddy Long Legs.

I used to be really scared of Butterflys as a kid, to the point where I would run away from them, much to the amusement of my schoolmates. I think it stemmed from visiting a Butterfly house one day as a young lad, and no sooner had I entered the aviary, a giant African Butterfly descended on me, scaring the crap out of me and I ran away there too! Moths fall into the same category of Butterflys, and Daddy Long Legs are similar IMO, all gangley legs that fly all over the place.

Thankfully I'm not scared of any of them these days, but they all still freak me out a little bit.

Speeches.

Ok when I'm not in the room, but if I'm there, a split second later I'm not.

Teaspoons. Or more specifically using one that has been used before.

Has to be a clean one. Can't make a cup of tea with a spoon that has been used before , even just to make a cup of tea while I am standing there. Have to wash it and dry it first, or get another one out for preference.

Somone touching my belly button.

Seriously.

I just cant let anyone do it (not that they would want too) but the very thought of it is making me feel quite unwell even now.
This^ and:
globophobia or ligyrophobia: Scared of baloons due to the noise they make when they burst
I can touch around the side, but I wont even touch my own belly button. And if someone does poke my belly button, or near it, I have to put a hand over it to "protect it".

The escalators at the deeper tube stations, they make me feel very uneasy, having big feet that hang off the step slightly doesn't help. I've never suffered from a fear of heights before.

Revolving doors. Good for air circulation in large buildings, bad for me.. grumpy

Was not in any way happy with icy pavements until just a few years ago when I bought a pair of DeWalt workboots that pretty much stuck like 5hit to any surface, pretty much curing me of 1 phobia in a short period of time. Still baffled how some guys in brogues and even women in non-sensible shoes can walk as normal on ice yet I look like a contestant from it's a Knockout.

For anyone thinking about going to sleep DO NOT google that Trypophobia thing for a better look...

..I'm now itching all over!!

Never even realised it was a 'thing' until now. But it's something that's been knocking around and making me feel uneasy for years!!

Oh and buttons - I'm okay with shirts.. It's just pointless ones for decoration. The Pearly Kings are my nemesis!!

Probably ok. Open windows mean more fresh air. I open them too, not in a phobia way, though.

Well if you don't protect it and someone undoes the knot in your belly button, your bum will fall off.

You Sir, have a very sensible outlook on this.
