Can't decide. 5 of us going, the other 4 are: 1 x GSXR1000 K6, 1 x Duke 1098, 1 x Tuono, 1 x MV F4...

The Ape is naked upright, hilarious, but hammers the spine. The Duke is a rabid speedfreak, but actually slightly more comfy due to the fully faired forward position. Both equally attrocious on fuel!

An ape or Duc for a road trip???
Do you also have a penchant for incredibly beautiful but severely mentally unstable women?

Mental chicks are dynamite in the sack.

Till they begin to cry/try to stab you.

1098 by the way.

Get a train down as far as you can to maximise sexytime with the nice roads.

Tuono - mainly as I couldn't bare strapping luggage and potentially harming paintwork on a 1098R. smile Secondly as the shorter gearing and wheelieing out of Alpine hairpins would never get boring.

Tuono, without a fairing wins everyday for me. Plus they sound & look better.

Taking one backpack only, although may add a tank tidy. Although Tuono would give more options and allow backpack to be strapped down. Both already geared down by one on the front and wheelie on demand nuts Ape on 15T, Duke on 14T.

Hmmm... close call that one. V-Twin double Akras or 70mm open Termis... ears

Ducati and one of these strapped to the treillis frame http://www.amazon.com/MSR-MSRFUELBOTT-Fuel-Bottle/...hehe

What vintage F4 is going with you? It'll be interesting to hear how it's behaved.

This is the F4. A 312RR 1078cc Monoposto. Although I too have a Tuono and gaze at it thinking that it will be much comfier than the Chiropracters Friend that is the MV

The 1098 all day long. The Tuono will just be horrible due to the lack of fairing over that distance.

I'm seriously eyeing up the new one. (deemed slightly comfier than yours)

Did you have any issue with the radiator leaking? Friend of friend's on his 3rd FOC from MV to be fair.

The 1078 is in essence the "cooking version" of the ridiculously expensive CC. It has a number of differences to a normal F4.

The rads are different, mine has slipper clutch std, titanium valves, 1078cc, Forged alloy wheels, fully adjustable foot rests are but a few things that I remember. I still bougt a radiator support bracket from a fine fellow up north who makes them just in case. Apparently this eliminates them sagging on one side which causes the failures.

The 2010 onwards has a much better seat [more space for fatties like me]but I wanted the 1078 when I bought.

They are fun though.

smile Might have to get one of these for the Tuono with us. Tuono fuel light on at 80, Duke at 115.
