I'm thinking the exact opposite.
And I can't help wondering whether some of the 'Ooh yes Chris, I agree with you' type posters do actually dislike private plates, or whether there are in fact an awful lot of sycophants on here...

No, we just don't like them, simple as that really.

That's how I read the non-liker posts anyway.
Me too. I just dont like them at all. Hopefully, the fact that I have never chucked money away buying one proves that.

It's actually a freckle and I'm very self-conscious about it if you don't mind!

Keep kidding yourselves.

As a petrolhead, I prefer the oily bits rather than chintzy automotive jewellery.

Private plates can be good, if they are subtle. One of my favourites:

Not everyone will get it. And that's the point!
Very good, and proves the point about private plates working well sometimes

Quite a few people seem to carry some baggage around their perception of what they may call "snobbery".

Why? Is it not possible for someone to hold the same viewpoint, arrived at using their own reason, and they must actually be an arse-licker incapable of independent thought?

I think you're just saying that because you love the first person in the thread who disagreed with the article, and you want to impress him. You're just dying for him to notice you, aren't you? Why don't you voice your own opinion, rather than following the crowd? You make me sick, you lackey.

I liken private plates to tatoos. Most of the time the only person who really likes it is the owner hehe
Bit like MG's wink
Exactly like MGs although in time they suffer from catastrophic HGF and you learn to hate them.

I've got a MG ZR 160 in grey, lovely condition but the engine needs replacing hehe
