Friday tomorrow. That's charity samosa day. A whopping great spicy samosa in exchange for a nugget that goes to charity. Two warm feelings inside by the time it's finished. smile

Monaco is nice to visit. I've been there a couple of times, each within a couple of weeks of the race (once before, once after). I found it bearable then, so remove the F1 bods and temporary seating/scaffolding etc and it'll open up even more. SqeezyJet flight to Nice on the cheap, hotel in Nice and 30 minute train to Monaco. Cheap but posh feeling (at times) weekend away.
I gather that traffic is a bit stationary a lot of the time.

Comment on GP procession or actual traffic? It wasn't too bad when we were there. The supercars were moving fast enough to be difficult to photograph without an SLR!

£6.40 for a 3 mile journey home in a taxi yikes
I'm sure it's more than that here in Surrey..
Probably are, I've only ever got 2 taxis in my life so wasn't really sure what price to expect.

Yay Bushy Park traffic....
Over Kingston Bridge, turn left and immediately right and go round the east and north of the Park. You're on the M3 and away before you know it.

Absolutely no good if you're going to Walton and Hersham.
I know exactly where you mean, down the side of the University halls on the B358. I, however was heading to Weybridge/Addlestone Business Park, via Walton... frown Took me an hour and a half to get there from Kingston Gate, Richmond Park, then another 35mins to the M25 and then it was solid on the A3 from Ockham. irked

Not in your Sprinter hopefully....nono

HM Queenie doesn't like [forbids] trade vehicles of any type in her Royal parks.

I was stopped by the park feds in an unwritten Escort van in 1998 but blagged my way

out of a ticket even though i was carrying some high precision equipment in the back

to be delivered by courier later.

Not much use now but if the feds didn't catch you then all's good.
In the Sprinter, but it's okay, I was on the A308 between it and Hampton Court Park.

Used the stop/start traffic to see what torque steer was like. Then I remembered it's rear wheel drive... silly

If you think it's going to be busy through Hampton Court, stay sarfatha rivva, go through Thames Ditton and the world's your lobster. You only have to negotiate the Scilly Isles and then there a choice of going through Esher, Molesey or even back up towards Hampton Court. It sounds long but it can save a bundle of time. You can even avoid the Scilly Isles by turning right at the green in Thames Ditton, through the village, going past the old AC factory and over the railway to come out further north towards Hampton Court.

The original spec was tubocharged. Any without implies a modification.

Bizarrely, when I worked in Wembley, the architect next door to the office imported them as a sideline.

I'm just watching some F1 practise from Monaco on Sky.

Monaco looks both utterly lovely yet also utterly unbearable.

To elaborate, it looks clean, sunny, interesting, happy, historical, lively etc. yet staggeringly crowded and claustrophobic on a different level.

I know it's F1 weekend and all that but it looks like you can't move.
Go there outside of F1 weekend and it's fine. Nice town but nothing special, really...
