How to best stop Birds fouling on my car?
Discussion
Get some bird food and lace it with Auto Glym Super resin, they will still poop on your car but it will just polish off.
Seriously, we have a Wood Pigeon infestation, the Dog has only managed to kill one so far despite eradicating them being his lifes work, the Galaxy has been unusable after a week, i.e. withough chiselling the s
t off, it is like no more nails.

It's the purrfect solution, although I doubt the idea will ever take off. http://www.bird-x.com/balcony-guard-products-29.ph...
That said, you have a gun. You already know the direct answer.

Equally, and apologies for the hijack, any suggestions for keeping cats off a car? Sick of having footprints in the dust/on the screen/roof every morning, or dirty footprints having just cleaned and polished it. (Not my cat, car's in a paved parking area, so I can't even take a claw hammer to the cat because there's nowhere to bury the evidence)
Put a half full plastic water bottle on the bonnet and roof (and boot if you have one). Don't ask me how or why but everyone does it in our car park and it works.OpulentBob said:
It's not a magic solution I'm afraid, but a pack of baby wipes is best. Wipe off the s
t every morning before you go to work, and wash the car once a week. I used to have a similar issue, decided I wouldn't wash it one weekend, it turns out 2 weeks of bird s
t on your door is enough to etch it permanently. Motherf
ker. So now, a pack of 50p multi-wipes and I wipe off any s
t as it appears.
Like I said, it's not a magic solution, but it's quick, easy, and pragmatic.
Cheers for that, I was wondering about something like that myself; I work very near the coast, and my car regularly gets covered in seagull s
t every morning before you go to work, and wash the car once a week. I used to have a similar issue, decided I wouldn't wash it one weekend, it turns out 2 weeks of bird s

t, horrid creatures. Thanks for all the suggestions so far.
As much as I would like to "pop a cap in their arse" so to speak, I don't think the boys in blue would be happy, as there are other houses near by. Possibly land me in a bit of bother.
I don't use the car for work, I generally only use it at the weekends.
There are two of these bloody phone lines running diagonally across the drive at different angles, so no matter where I park, I cant seem to get away from it.
Think the best option is a decent car cover.
Now I had a so called decent car cover I bought of fleabay, but the thing started to rip and shred it self almost, after about a month.
Can anyone recommend a decent one? One that lasts preferably, and the car lives out side the whole time.
Thanks
Kimmy

When you park up simply arrange 20 candle-holders on the bonnet, roof, and rear, Then place a laser-pen (switched on) in each, all pointing up in various directions. Works best at night.
Have never had a supermarket-car-park bird-poop incident since I tried this method.
Another method is to paint your car weekly with creosote - they hate the smell and won't fly near it.

I had a very similar issue but it was a massive ash tree.
as mentioned earlier in the thread:
Clean and Wax Car
Baby wipes and detailing Spray
Deal with it ASAP
Invest in a decent car cover
Getting it early is key, it will come off with a baby wipe and you can just spray the detailer and give it wipe with a clean microfiber cloth. Still a pain but better than the paint damage.
My extreme action was applying for permission to get the tree crown "trimmed" 50%, (it was almost reaching the house) approval granted, tree trimmed some what more than 50% by over zealous tree company
It will grow back in say 15 years.... Bird Poo now not an issue and the Tree is now called "stumpy"

An air rifle will do it.
if you dont want to kill the birds i think there are things called air soft that fire plastic balls.
After a while the birds will learn not to roost there.
As i kid i shot a few flying rats in the garden. After i think it was about 3 got shot the other vermin learnt not to come back
Well hopefully they will learn to shoot and shoot you back.if you dont want to kill the birds i think there are things called air soft that fire plastic balls.

Or just crap on him instead of his car
@ Rich - Seriously how nice to take pot shots at the birds & injure them - wonder how you'd feel if people were taking pot shots at you, your children or even your own pet(s) - i bet if they were, you'd be on the phone to the police quickly enough complaining

Years ago I kept a few racing pigeons & one of my neighbours tried shooting one of them claiming it was a feral pigeon
a
hole didn't do it again after I threatened to do the same to his pet cat in return
