Scottish Run Out

yeah but Id have a more track suited tyres on.
it was the intro group (3 track days or less) and people where showing up with track bikes with tyre warmers on and a set of wets with full tool kit going on about how he'd done six laps on it around the neverbeen. I was like WTF....because it was the intro night you were told only to pass on the straights and not under brakes into corners.
you'd come up behind someone who was slower and think ill hang off at this corner and over take on the straights, next thing someone has flung it up your inside. There certainly seemed to be a few regulars who thought they would be a big fish for the night.
I emailed the photographer to get some photos and even he said "I was watching a few guys that were far to fast to be trackday virgins with proper track bikes" I seemed to be the only first timer. It never really bothered me the speed but some it really did as they only went out for a few laps.
I was surprised by the bikes that were there. A fair few r1's, fireblades and s1000 I seemed to have the oldest bike there i thought the novice group would be full of old snotters.
There was very few who rode there as well.
This might be why it started to become stupid though, think it got stopped 8 or 9 times due to crashes. Mostly people who had vans/trailers.
I'm thinking of getting a track bike (with trailer) something that im not afraid to drop because thats what stopped me pushing on the ninja, plus the fact I had to ride it home.

I enjoyed myself and hopefully will go again this summer. Jokes aside I set out to push harder than last time and I've limited experience so I knew I had a fair chance of crashing. The only stupid thing would to be to get upset over it, it's all part of the experience as far as I'm concerned.
Was it definately your tyres and not the surface? I was struggling in some places but it was because of the dust and s
t that was everywhere.
If you're happy to push on the Ninja I'm sure we can get a van for next time and get a few bikes in from the boys on here. I'm sure Johnny said he may be interested if he can get some boots for his chubby feet.
ETA: Was that a professional photographer? You get his details?

I didnt enjoy it as much as I thought I would (me finidng Netural all the time and the constant stoppages annoyed me a tad) that said ive spent the whole of this morning looking at getting a 3rd bike for the track. I can't decide what to do tomorrow. Keep it local and short doing the Moffat / St Mary's run which is a 120 mile loop, or do a big ride up to Ballachulish (top of Glen Coe) which is double the mileage but awesome scenery and roads. Weather looks perfect in all directions. Thoughts?
If there's a few wanting to go I'll probably be up for heading North.Otherwise my preference is South.

Is that in Penicuik?
I'll see you there. I'll be Liam on the RSV4.
It's close. But it's not in Penicuik. It's just at the start of the A701, here:I'll see you there. I'll be Liam on the RSV4.

I'll be Gareth on the above battered CBR. But I'll be waiting on what Mark wants to do before I commit, it was his idea afterall.
