Good combo, will be very close. Front tyre wear is disturbing to say the least. I reckon it's possible to get 6 or 7 laps out of a set, and the fuel usage is quite high too considering it's only a Clio. I'm finding it quite easy to snag a wall in a lot of places on track as well.

Gt6 - 3 layouts for silverstone plus willow springs. Deltawing and z4 gt3 should be good.
Willow springs! Excellent. Deltawing is a fascinating thing. I can't wait to see what GT6 has to offer!

Just a word of warning that the pit lane exit on R246 can be a bit treacherous and throws you out in to the middle of the straight if you're not careful.

Why do I have to draw Fuji? Gaaaaaaaaaay!

Spec for the week is:

Oil change and engine rebuild

Racing Soft and Racing Medium :rockandroll:

Very fast wear

And we will use the premium 500F.

Racing softs on a Fiat 500, what are you like Norbs.

Fun racing last night, happy with second in the first race. I was praying Norbs would run out of fuel but alas, it wasn't to be.

Got mullered running into Torq on lap 3 in race two after he's bounded off the wall. Didn't make much difference anyway as I'd forgotten to add my ballast during all the disconnecting fun we had between races.

You're so bloody gay Norbury.

Can we not have a more sensible combo? I'm not sure we can all handle this...hehe

It should give some good slipstream battles though.

I was going well in race one, I came out just behind Flip and Joe after my pit stop and had much fresher tyres so I could probably have gotten past.

I then got collected when G hit the wall, so I had to pit due to major engine damage.

Then on the following lap G crashed again at turn 2 and rolled across in front of me giving me engine damage once more heheirked.

Race 2 was fairly uneventful.

I'm thinking of doing all weight reduction mods to try and speed the damn thing up a bit. I wanted something mega slow, but this is retarded hehe

There's 2 braking points around the whole lap, and it really doesn't like the hill at the end of the lap!

Goodwood i'm very sorry about last night dude, the first crash at the high speed right/left was unfortunate, once i clipped the wall and took loads of speed off there was no where you could go, i was on the racing line after all. wink

The second crash you mentioned i have no recollection of, i will check my replay in a bit.. although i'd like to think i would remember after crashing into you the previous lap. It could be due to lag, norbs or someone else mentioned earlier in the night that i had lagged. Once again sorry pal.

Norbs dont forget you owe me a beer

Was struggling with the understeer last night, it was great for a few laps until the tyre's went off, then it was a battle of containing the understeer, not my cup of tea tbh, would rather struggle with oversteer any day of week. I'm sure Billy and GW's combo will give me all the oversteer i could ever want. An LSD would have worked nicely on the Clio.

Had loads of fun in the MX5 though, even if it was only just 2 laps.

And then after ruining GW's race i DC'd before the final race started, after understeering into the wall on my first lap of the hards in race 1 i couldn't face a whole race on them so decided to call it a night.

And the Fiat 500 at Fuji? Hmmm... could be interesting getmecoat There is definitely enough time to slurp your tea on the straights.. and some of the corners too. Not sure i'm sold on this random track, car set up rule... seems to be throwing up some odd pairings. I'm sure some epic ones will come soon driving

No worries G.

GT5 online has been shocking lately so that may explain the different experiences. On my screen you hit the wall at turn 2 and rolled/bounced back onto the racing line so I had nowhere to go and hit you again.

I wonder if you maybe quit after hitting the wall, meaning your car went into auto-drive and I hit that just as you were in the process of quitting.

Anyway, I do hope they sort the online side of GT6 out.

Is the 500 that slow? I don't want a 3 min lap will be at it all night...

If it is tooooooo slooowww (just like Norbs) then we have the option of using his other choice, 540 chaser?? Thoughts

Following some extensive testing, I have modified it. Full lightening, so 473kg.

Stage 3 engine, ECU, all intake and exhaust mods. No turbo though. Should be 35bhp. Fully custom transmission set to about 100 now I reckon, haven't tried it in this spec yet. It's still slow but not as bad as it was.

I'd rather use a proper car please, fiat 500 at fuji is just lame. Will probably miss out this week if it is... Will do the mx5 qauli race as that will be fun, the mx5 shouldnt be the highlight of the night, there is something wrong if it is.

Missing last years set up tbh, it worked much better imo. Love the mx5 quali race, thats a welcome addition. Last years set up was close to perfection, if it aint broke dont fix it... Just my 2 pence.

I realise I've yet to race this season so perhaps shouldn't be commenting....

I think there wasn't too much wrong with last season, my only change would maybe have been even more success adjustment (be it weight and maybe power drop?), perhaps over more of the field, to ensure racing is tight even when some of us are so much quicker than others so excitement remains for all.
I'm not at all convinced by random car & track combos, different (well selected) cars can make old tracks come alive and provide interesting fun new challenges, this can strictly only happen now by random happy accident. The Fuji/fiat thing emphasises how wrong this new combo selection can turn out.

Just some thoughts. I know I need really to race this. Before grumbling too much.

I had a quick go with the 35hp Fiat today and must admit was bored stupid. Too slow and over tyred for that track. I don't think it would be too bad in the pack but once dropped and racing alone you'd soon loose the will to live.

Maybe we should swap to the other car Norbs picked.

I still think the concept works, we just need to avoid anything that's too slow on certain tracks.

Oh and I think we need a volunteer to drive this each week.

A pace car mid way through a race would be epic.
